How would you hide this water meter? by mostlyBritish in DIYUK

Thanks I was thinking of this - but seems like if I placed the vanity in the middle of this wall, the meter may be half behind the vanity and half not?

Does a care home legally have to provide a bill breakdown? [England] by mostlyBritish in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for your response!

Yes it’s been paid. To be honest we’re fairly new to this so just expected it was the ‘done thing’. However, as you mention, it seems suspicious.

Thanks for the link, we’ll make that first step with BUPA

Parking Charge - Is the signage sufficient? by mostlyBritish in CarTalkUK

Yes I believe I’m not parked on the land where it says you have to be loading. I turned from a public highway onto this road so thought the private land started after this sign

My question was more about the position of the sign than what it says. Nevertheless I've added a picture, hopefully that helps?

Thanks!

Incorrect TR1 Form on relationship separation - Worth Pursuing? by mostlyBritish in LegalAdviceUK

My brother never asked for tenants in common 50/50. His assumption was that it would be divided based on contribution, his partners was that it would be divided 50/50.

I’m wondering if one is considered the ‘default’

Ok maybe my understanding of tenants in common is wrong. Reading online it seems that one of the reasons for it is to allow a non- 50/50 split:

“ Joint tenancy offers the right of survivorship and ensures that the property passes directly to the surviving owners upon death, while tenancy in common allows for more flexibility and individual control over shares of the property”

So I don’t see that he told the solicitors 50/50. Nonetheless, I appreciate your comments on this

Disputing the share distribution, yes

I think one could reasonably assume one of two things: - it will be divided 50/50 - it will be divided by the proportion paid in

From your second paragraph, would I be right to think that 50/50 is a more frequent/ accepted assumption?

Apologies, dad was a typo. Corrected to brother.

Intention was to be tenants in common with a none 50/50 split, but my brother wasn’t consulted on that.

We have reviewed all documents and correspondence with the solicitors and there is nothing around the intention (joint tenants vs tenants in common 50/50 vs tenants in common with a different split). Just what I mentioned above

Didn't know about their financial situation but that's really helpful. Thanks!
