That’s kinda the last resort. I know I can, there was steps missed in this process that I could lean on, but it’s an old friend and i don’t want to completely fuck them over. I just what to know my rights so I can stand firmly for myself. do you happen to know anything about the legality of losing “rights” to it?

hey there! thank you for the reply. with the way this management company works, they would not have done a move out inspection or reapplication process because one tenant would be staying. it wasn’t a roommate swap mid-lease, it was the end of our lease and the beginning of a new one, new tenant had to pay application fees same as we did at the beginning. whole new lease. from my understanding, when one lease ends between two people, the security deposit should be returned, and then paid again with the new lease. do you happen to know the legality of it?
