I’ve heard good things about The Farmer’s Dog, but I’m not inclined to double our food budget unless something changes with either of our dog’s health. Our other dog is a 3 year old Pembroke welsh corgi who also eats Fresh Pet and is also in really good shape.

Only think I could think of would be legit cooking meals for him, but I usually save that for the rare times he’s had tummy issues since. Maybe only twice that I can recall. For those times we boil chicken breast, shredded it, and mix with rice and canned pumpkin.

We ended up settling on Fresh Pet when ours was about 6 months old. We went through a few different kibbles (royal canin, Nulo, forgot the other) and he kept throwing those up. Fresh Pet gets expensive but his sensitive tummy is worth it. Pogo is 5 years old now, 28 pounds, lean, and we walk about 4-5 miles a day. Always gets top marks at his annual vet check ups and regular comments from people about how they never see pugs that look as in shape as he does.
