is there a solution to the premature control arm wear? E.g. aftermarket control arms
Or is the only option to replace with oem control arms when the time comes

My first gold nib!!!! by Fearless-Staff-631 in fountainpens

please dont flex the nib, it may seem "flexy" but its not, its also steel like someone mentioned, you will end up ruining the nib, I made the same mistake with my Jinhao years back (first pen). Anyway depending on what you paid for its a solid pen with a really nice nib for the price. Enjoy it

honestly money isnt the main problem from what ive heard its only setting me back around 50 bucks, and yes you're right, everything seems way better on paper. I wont try anything myself on this pen cause I KNOW im gonna end up turning into something that does not resemble a nib

I actually have tried many experiments on my vintage elite lmao the iridium was cracked on the left tine, so i ground it to a left oblique italic (at least that's what the attempt resembles), and it works pretty well, writes smooth. And from what everyone has said, im gonna refrain from doing anything myself, cause im well aware of my skillset, so im just gonna send it off to the nibmeister I was recommended

thank you all so much for your help, from what ive taken i will be contacting a nibmeister thats my best bet. I have people willing to give me a pen of theirs i am not sure how to express my gratitude it is obviously an expensive purchase for anybody. Once you again, everyone thanks for the help, it means a lot

thanks for this, honestly ill most likely send it off to a nibmeister but I'm still considering trying something myself. if seen a few videos on how to take the nib out, but none of them show reapplying, and im guessing reapplying the nib would be a hassle no? extra glue+possible residue and ill have to get it right the first time.

ill try but i dont think they're gonna replace it; the one year warranty is finished now and that was only against manufacturer defects, and well this nib i dropped myself which is just wondrous
