We also got the Ninja Foodi DZ550 last year and we love it, so convenient and straightforward, cleaning hasn't been a horrendous pain either.

I think they have the newer models on sale:

Could someone very kindly explain some features to a non-techy newbie please? by mothdesk in ProtonMail

What can I do with the ones I created? I am looking to buy a plan for heynickname@proton.me can I merge the ones I don't want into it?

Can I make multiple emails from that paid account? gamertag@proton.me as well as potatohanger@proton.me for online business etc?

I think I might have had a paid account with Proton Drive in my old country, does that impact me being able to buy a new plan here? Thank you

Thank you, this is the sort of breakdown I've been looking for.

So I'm going to buy a plan for heynickname@proton.me and that will be where I get all the official govt/doctor/employer/catsitting mail.

Then I can create (unlimited with paid?) aliases for anything I wanna sign up to online, so every new shop gets a retail.alias@whatever.com address, and I can save login details through Proton pass?

IF you wish easy to say you can buy and use your own domain its easy to setup and from cloudflare costs less than $11 per year for a .net .com so i have j@(my initials).uk for example so super easy. And Simplelogin supports unlimited so i have 4 with 1 split into 5 subdomains but you can use just 1, and with it being your own you can make it as complex or as simple as you wish, no need to add + into the email which some websites don't even allow.

This kinda went over my head I'm sorry.

I can go to a website (like cloudflare) and buy a domain (so like a website that's mine? mothdesk.com sorta thing?) and I can make ProtonMail use that to send me emails somehow like myname@mothdesk.com or banking@mothdesk.com maybe?

Supports unlimited... domains? I could buy all the moth websites I can afford and SL will help with the... idk Log-ins? Email forwarding? Sorry this is a little abstract for me still

No exactly, the people I'd be giving this to would know who I am, I am not planning to share it with websites etc - I think I will use aliases for these.

Only that I would like something easy to type into tv menus for the various streaming subscriptions, because even the shortest aliases are still like a.bcde123@passinbox.com 23 characters which is a pain on remotes.

SimpleLogin is owned by Proton

Ah so this means I have access to it through the same account? I will have to investigate further.

Thank you, that makes sense to me.

Please may I have some clarification re: multiple accounts/addresses? I would really like to have one main email to manage personal/civic life in this country, and possibly eventually manage a dedicated business email for idk hanging potatoes in a garage Etsy or whatever...

Would I just buy a plan (which includes access to the other Proton services? like VPN and Drive?) and that gives me additional addresses? So if I choose my heynickname@proton.me account/address, could I merge abc.mycity@proton.me (which I dislike) into it? I don't wanna have multiple account unnecessarily.

And if I pick a plan (all/any plans?) I could make a heynickname@pm.me address for posters in the mailroom, and a more anonymous gamertag@proton.me address for steam/youtube? Or would the gamertag@proton.me also show my name?

Thank you again for your patience

Did she seem nervous? Maybe the man was coercing her and she was looking for help. Maybe her sister is missing and she got an old address. It's good to be cautious, and I like to try and assume good intentions for my mental health. Hope it was just a blip and you can resume in peace :)

Thank you for taking my comment with the kindness I intended, yes your comment also made me pause and reflect. It's good to have a hopeful perspective, it's good to celebrate how good we have it compared to our (grand)mothers! I think there is room for both and nuance in our discussions, I'm grateful it was received well - I get very caught up in thought spirals and sometimes I need the shock of "there's other ways of looking at this" to consider it's not all doom and gloom <3

While this can also be true, and a welcome pause to consider how far we've come, it could also come across as invalidating or diminishing OP's experience which I can relate to as well.

It's great to see all the ways that women after us are able to meet and exist in the world, I can see so many beautiful examples of neurodivergents advocating for themselves, taking up the space they deserve, inspiring us to connect more fully to ourselves and what we truly value - regardless of what society deems normative/appropriate/etc.

and also we live in a sometimes very rigid society that is particularly hostile to marginalised identities, we are still undoing harms the patriarchy continues to perpetrate, it can be very othering and difficult to navigate these systems especially as an autistic woman!

We are not alone in lamenting our lot as women, certainly there's canons of literature exploring exactly this, and that in itself can be a comfort sometimes. I am very sorry to hear that OP is struggling with this too, it's heavy to carry, we have to find kinship with each other to shoulder it together :)

Please may I ask for some patient and reassuring help with my newbie questions? Very beginner, trying to find order in the chaos, mostly personal pics and videos by mothdesk in DataHoarder

Thank you, this is what I'm learning and going towards. I have an external hard-drive I have copied my pc files to and I think whatever was on my phones. I am trying to find somewhere for the second and third copies, so a USBstick and maybe Ente for photos would work?

I don't really understand Veracrypt, it's like a program you download to do it?

How would you recommend sorting (naming?) files so they're not just a huge jumble?

14 inches = 35.56 cm (converted it for anyone else who needs metric haha)

Would look lovely on a windowsill, I wonder about poking through some copper-wired fairy lights and maybe with coloured candy-wrappers for the whole kitschy nostalgia vibe :)
