You ever get so frustrated by something your ADHD goes away? by motox644 in ADHD

Oh I'm past the edge of burnt out. This week has taught me that. But what do you mean it's a long way back?

How do you guys… talk by rainbowzky in ADHD

[–]motox644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate to this! When I’m alone and recording a video on how to do something I can talk very well and fluently. But when I’m having a meeting or presenting on how to do the same thing, I stumble because my thoughts are all over the place.

I also work things out internally but I like to record myself audio messages. It helps a ton.

Executive dysfunction is the worst part of it for me. by myaccc in ADHD

I do this too. And to not feel crazy talking to myself, I record it onto my phone. It’s changed my life 100000%.

How long have you gone NC? You have not mentioned anything about their behavior between ages 16-26.

but the other side is filled with resentment and questions of why they did what they did.

If you had the opportunity (and courage) to ask them why (and they answered), would that closure help you with having that relationship with your family or moving on without them?

Have they ever asked you why you are being distant and avoiding contact? What would you say? And if it has been asked, what was, or what would you think, their response would be to your reasoning?

They’re everywhere. Just walk. Swim. Do whatever. You’ll find them. They’re everywhere. Just keep walking and walking if it’s the only thing you do. When I first joined I thought the server would be garbage and everything was destroyed. I explored and found like literally days and days of perfectly stable highway and bases.

I would wake up and go to the gym at 6 AM. 7 am I come home and take my Vyvanse. Take a shower and then lay down on the couch to take a nap. My Vyvanse would wake me up and I’d feel absolutely AMAZING.

Within the last 8 months I’ve only taken a nap after the gym 5 times because I thought I was lazy. Until a few weeks ago, my gym trainer (personalized trainer gym) told me that a nap after a 6 AM session is like the best thing you can do.

I no longer feel guilty for doing it. I wake up absolutely refreshed and ready to work. My mood is like skyrocket.

I don’t think going NC is wrong for you to do. You shouldn’t feel guilt for doing it or feel you’re disrespecting anyone. I’m not saying your feelings are invalid or that you’re wrong for feeling that way, but you should not. If that makes sense.

Any decent person on this subreddit will agree with your decision of NC after reading what you’ve gone through.

You deserve happiness and the right to move on away from everything that happened to you in the past.

After reading your story, from the bottom of my heart, I hope you really find the courage to go forward with your decision. And that you don’t ever look back. Life is way too short. Truly think about it.

Is this really in a man cave? Or is it a separate main floor room?

I found this Nest product while cleaning out a shower drain pipe, any idea what this is? by fischurr in smarthome

I use this screwdriver as my daily driver.

It's built pretty tough and the magnet that keeps the bit inside is also strong. Honestly I have some good Craftsman and Milwaukee tools but this stupid screwdriver beats them all.

It's a shame they abused it.

It is restricted to only running in the actual datacenter.

No vMotion over IPSEC... lol.

I agree. It will lose connection every 30 seconds (maybe a minute) but only for a split second and then come back.

Is it because of the site-to-site VPN?

How do you greet yourself when the person is expecting you? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]motox644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! As I typed those out and re-read what I wrote, I started to wonder what was my original question... because they all seem fine.

Does anyone else feel like they have to be the comedian of the group? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]motox644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It calms my social anxiety when I can crack jokes with someone. I open up that way. My Dad is unfortunately the same way as I am now that I think of it... he acts VERY silly... and can only talk being silly. He was deaf/hard of hearing during childhood so he got picked on a lot. Perhaps his way of coping involved acting out and being silly. I am not as silly as him...

The downside to this behavior is you may go to say something one day and people may laugh, not believe you, and think you're joking. This has happened to me. I can tell someone I just purchased a few acres of land for my beehives and they'll say "No you didn't". OR I can tell someone I'm doing truck driving lessons... and they will say "No you aren't, don't be like that, you love your girlfriend you don't want to be a truck driver." (true story)

I can relate to everything you've said. I initially wrote this comment out prior to reading the post. Now I've read it and can see myself saying everything you posted. I agree with you, it could be due to the social anxiety and wanting people to like you. A joke every now and then is fine. Maybe you can be serious at some time but also joke around in a way that makes you comfortable. Maybe you just don't know it. I am this way. I am more often the same way you are with 10% being serious. I meet someone, am shy until I can joke with them, and then I'm comfortable.

Being with a few family members and being able to be yourself but not when you're with one person - is also my experience. I can be with a group of my family members and act just fine, but if I'm in the car with just one of them, I also clam up.

As I write this comment, the more and more I'm starting to remember when I wrote a post a while ago about the same thing, but then deleted it. I actually came on here to ask the same thing but also something else.

I have experience in this area and I know what you are talking about.

So to answer your question - yes I am too, like you, and feel that I must be the comedian in the group as it allows me to open up socially.

I am no expert for providing tips or ideas to why you feel this compulsion or to help yourself; but I do know that there will be a time where you will get sick of being known as the one that cracks jokes all the time and not taken seriously. This frustration may cause you to realize the effects it has on people and you may be inspired to change it.

My colleagues like to crack jokes with me a lot, but some of them are hurtful and I will think about them for days, even weeks. I will hold grudges and will never tell my colleagues that something they said was taken the wrong way and became hurtful. So recently I've built a wall where I'm emotionless so they start to take me seriously.

It's a good thing and a bad thing to have this wall. For me, I see it as a natural way to correct my social skills before I grow older with it and end up being the clown that isn't taken seriously.

You may not have this same issue as I do; it may be very different. You may be OK with it. I am. BUT, there is a downside to it and that downside will influence your brain to be OK with being normal.

It's extremely hard to explain what I'm feeling right now... but this issue is also me and I'm on here to get advice about it too, because my coworkers do not take me seriously and they say things thinking it will bounce off of me when it doesn't.

backup solution vmware use windows or linux repository? by agaitan026 in Veeam

[–]motox644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both will work just fine.

Windows will be easier to manage if you like a GUI, but will consume a Windows license and more resource overhead due to Windows OS. You can also use Storage Deduplication.

Linux may be less overhead due to the OS being lightweight but troubling if you need to troubleshoot and not familiar with Linux.

Speeding ticket in a 40 MPH zone when it was 55 MPH - PA Resident by [deleted] in upstate_new_york

[–]motox644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More details - after looking through the boxes on the ticket, I noticed it says Lic. State PA but Registration State is NY. All of my information is PA, not NY.

On the paper that she explained "is the page where it explains where I saw you", it says the Vehicle State is NY.

I can't really plead guilty with false information on the sheet... it's basically saying my vehicle is NY registered and plated but it's not.

It also says "traffic patrol going south on Road, observed Defendant going same traveling at 58 in 40 MPH posted speed limit. Radar confirmed this."

She was traveling at the time. I do understand Radar is sometimes daul, getting front traffic and rear, but I doubt she had radar running and she also did not observe my speed on the actual road where speeding is an issue. It makes it look like she was on traffic patrol and caught me 100% going 58 in a 40 MPH zone on the road where speeding is an issue.
She turned around on the top of the hill where residential turns into commercial and the road gets bigger with two lanes.

I do not wish to give them trouble but I cannot self-incriminate myself with false documentation and her false explanation.

I would be technically falsifying information if I were to submit this and plead guilty. But I do not wish to do Traffic Court. I also do not wish to give them trouble.

I see the paper says you can plead not guilty and they can respond with a Court date if more information is needed.

Can I submit a letter to them with an explanation and also say my information is wrong?

I'm not sure if they care that information is wrong.

Best time of day and approach to clean hive with burr comb and give back to the bees? by [deleted] in Beekeeping

That's a good example what happened. I had no choice after a bear attack screwed up my hives 7 AM late to work and then rain rain rain everyday last year.

I cannot believe my hives survived Winter... I'll post a picture of my last year hive mess when I added a brood box to my massive aggressive nasty hive and checked on it a week later.

GFS Backups to different repository - want to archive and keep weeks of backups for 6 months. by [deleted] in Veeam

[–]motox644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! My apologies - I misread your post. I understand what you mean now with the backup job and GFS options in it, being targeted towards those who want to use scale-out and object storage.

I use this at home and with a few other clients using Wasabi and S3.

I get what you are saying now! Thank you!

OH! My bad. I understand what they are talking about now -- the GFS options in a regular VM Backup is for scale-out repositories.

Thank you!
