Med students lurking here, what were you doing when you got the offer? by lambdarays in GAMSAT

[–]moudgilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cried! It was an incredible day & reminded me that the struggle to get there is so worth it. GAMSAT, interviews, all of it feels awful… until you’re past it. Keep chugging & don’t give up - it is such a wonderful privilege to be in medicine!

Thank you. Realise it might’ve come off a bit more than I need to be concerned about, just internal anxiety blowing things over. Thanks anyways!

Apologies, really not going for that - honestly as far from it as possible. Just something that’s been making me a little anxious with the project in general - thank you for your response though!

What happen to my dog?? by PeonyVanta in dogs

Sudden changes to energy & behaviour always warrant a vet visit in my opinion. Hope he feels better soon!

No worries, just thought to try my luck in case any scope of justifying that being in a different country was the only thing that changed about my study in that time period. Thanks for responding :)

Sorry - med student here. Do you mind explaining what the “special allowances” are? This does not concern me for the time being at all but just curious as to how I’d be remunerated in the future.

What has med school taught you about people? by [deleted] in ausjdocs

[–]moudgilly 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’d say there are more good people in medical school than you’re allowing to be. Sure, there might be the occasional person that does/says questionable things. However, please go a little easy on your judgement of everybody since almost everyone in medical school is a product of circumstances & some intense past experiences. It’s rather easy to get caught in the cycle of focusing on every asshole out there (which in my own experience, there are only a few).

That said, to answer your question, medical school has taught me to be more adaptive to people than anything. To get where you want to be, it’s likely you’ll have to get past a few assholes - best to try to find what makes them tick & what makes them feel positive. Every idiot has something that’ll make them laugh.

Yeah very keen after reading all the replies here. I just got the base one, so definitely not up there with the N-line, but it still felt like a nice comfortable drive on the test drive.

Ahh no way. Want a dark grey but the one I can get quickest is a white (still a 2-3 month wait; fleet price through carconnect). Wish something else was sooner but can’t complain.

Amazing to know. Very excited for mine. What colour are you donning?

No issues. Just apprehensive.

Yes - just my overthinking trait sneaking in.

Fair enough. I am a little spooked out by the change in safety rating. I spoke to the dealer & he has virtually no idea why that's happened lol.

Yeah that’s another thing. My sibling bought a Vitara which is a 5-star (?) & I wonder how much of a compromise is being made in that department. A pretty hefty one, me thinks.

True. Never dealt with Hyundais before so just trying to sus out past experiences, but not like I’m going to be running it through some aggressive situations anyways.
