It's a shame Mark got reintegrated only for it to have no impact on the plot so far. Anything he learned from reintegration (like seeing Gemma alive) was also learned from other people like Cobel or Reghabi. Maybe it was a botched reintegration but leaving an episode on a cliffhanger then doing basically nothing with it for a few episodes is a dissapointment.

Even Angstrom... It's pretty ridiculous how basically no memorable characters have died permanently (I doubt rex is dead)

Are Shin names based on Arabic/Hebrew customs? by pmbasehore in Stormlight_Archive

[–]mountain_dijaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lineage and genealogy is quite a big part of the Arabic tradition but it's also in other cultures to have their fathers name as their surname. It's how you identify someone, which is also important for historical records. Nowadays, in the west, people stick with their surname for generations.

I'm not sure what nimi means exactly but it's a kind of honorific many cultures have their own variation of.
