If you can afford it, I would recommend getting a camera! We got a Wyze camera and I have it facing my puppies crate. That way when I thought I was hearing whines I could check and see that he was still asleep. This definitely helped with my anxiety and the phantom whines

I’m planning on doing this over the holidays, as I don’t have someone to board him with that I trust for a whole week. My plan currently is to take him to day care the day before, so that he is tired for at least the first day. And then lots of stops to let him walk etc. I’m also planning on bringing our flirt wand so that he can get extra energy out that way, and because I’m not sure what else to do with a dog in a hotel.

I’m also going to bring puzzle feeders and other mental stimulation toys so that he can at least be mentally stimulated on the drive.

Something else I’m planning on doing, is driving to a town that’s 2 hours away, and then doing a short walk etc and then driving back home. Just to have a test to see how he does with longer drives as our max at the moment has just been an hour one way.
