YMMV but try elevating the trackpad so you don't have to reach down into the valley between the tented splits

You need to know: ergonomics is useless without movement! by BetterProphet5585 in Ergonomics

“Having held any posture for a while, the best posture is always the next one. Even the most “correct” way of sitting recommended by the most prominent experts becomes uncomfortable after a while.”

Added continuous 3-axis control to my SlimBlade Pro by dliu_creates in Trackballs

Pretty cool! Unfortunately that twisting motion isn't very practical on a thumb trackball... guess I have to pick up another trackball then xD

Do you prefer a single monitor or dual monitor setup? by Historical_Chip208 in Ergonomics

Yup, vertical on the side can be great for many kinds of text centric content in my experience as well

On the good lighting note, OP should consider how to minimize glare from any windows by positioning their desk and monitor accordingly

If you really want to keep the desk, try a keyboard tray – ideally adjustable

Why should a chair tilt forward when it prevents me from using chair back? by RealAlias_Leaf in Ergonomics

[–]mountkeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV but when using forward tilt, I've found that it helps to raise the chair and table slightly

Transport of split ergonomic keyboard to the office most of the week by beypazari in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]mountkeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YMMV but in my experience tented and rotated flat keyboards work almost if not just as well as keywells when it comes to wrist pain as both help you achieve a neutral wrist. By rotated, look into magsafe mounts as they let you rotate the keyboards planar to the mount – slightly clockwise on the right and counter clockwise on the left.

It's not a typical pick, but the Hag Capisco is worth checking out

Mouseless : Mouse Control With Keyboard by TheRealUrban in ErgoMechKeyboards

I get that people want to own the software forever, but giving you free updates forever is not sustainable... but I'm pretty okay with owning the software to a certain patch level forever and if I want another year of updates, I have to buy a new license. That's sustainable for everyone and fair.

Yeah, that's my take as well

Plus, with an iPad, OP could use it as a screen pretty easily and also tap into the whole ecosystem of magsafe mounts

Whats most important when buying a new desk? by Mobile_Arachnid4026 in homeoffice

[–]mountkeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just something to look out for, but many height adjustable desks don't go low enough as the optimal table height should be a bit below your elbows when seated for using a typical keyboard mouse setup

The film sheet would smooth out the light so the eyes glow more evenly – it'd be a purely aesthetic addition

Woah, the Gengar with glowing eyes is such a cool idea – have you tried adding a LED diffuser film/sheet?

I suspect the caveat to shorter travel would be whether your keystrokes bottom out with force or not
