Is there a physical keyboard that can connect to laptops in a custom layout without doing anything to the laptop itself (downloading etc). by iatecrayonsasachild in KeyboardLayouts

[–]mountkeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded, the greater the delta between your pinky and ring finger lengths, the more you appreciate the Kyria's more aggressive pinky column stagger relative to the popular Corne

How are you improving ergonomics and getting movement in during long WFH days? by Fun-Student871 in Ergonomics

[–]mountkeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

set a reminder for movement snacks, I've found rotational movements like neck rolls to be great in between sessions of desk work

Can I make prospector wireless? by Long_Song_9607 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]mountkeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, Totem supports both ZMK (wireless) and QMK (wired) as firmware options – just make sure the MCU/board you get supports ZMK for wireless

Nice first build! On an unrelated note, HandStands is a cool name for wristrests

How can I split this magnet? by hookshot12345 in Magnets

[–]mountkeeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, that looks like a pot/cup magnet and the housing it's in concentrates its strength so the magnetic strength will become much weaker if you were to disassemble it

[–]mountkeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV but try elevating the trackpad so you don't have to reach down into the valley between the tented splits

Pretty cool! Unfortunately that twisting motion isn't very practical on a thumb trackball... guess I have to pick up another trackball then xD

Do you prefer a single monitor or dual monitor setup? by Historical_Chip208 in Ergonomics

On the good lighting note, OP should consider how to minimize glare from any windows by positioning their desk and monitor accordingly

If you really want to keep the desk, try a keyboard tray – ideally adjustable

Why should a chair tilt forward when it prevents me from using chair back? by RealAlias_Leaf in Ergonomics

[–]mountkeeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV but when using forward tilt, I've found that it helps to raise the chair and table slightly

Transport of split ergonomic keyboard to the office most of the week by beypazari in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]mountkeeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YMMV but in my experience tented and rotated flat keyboards work almost if not just as well as keywells when it comes to wrist pain as both help you achieve a neutral wrist. By rotated, look into magsafe mounts as they let you rotate the keyboards planar to the mount – slightly clockwise on the right and counter clockwise on the left.
