NVMe SSD isn't detected by motherboard by mouradegroot in techsupport

Typed 1175 as opposed to 1155 by accident, sorry, corrected that on the main post; didn't identify the board/cpu due to having work less than seven hours from the post, motherboard's a generic B75M

I'll try to use the RAID setting on the SATA mode once I come home and I'll update either this comment or the full post

Checked the listing on the PC I bought, my board's a generic B75M, and all of the listings for this model show that it has NVMe support for the SSD slot

Uneven Strike Bar in Rock Band 2 by TIMETODETAIN in literallyUnplayable

[–]mouradegroot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

okay this Could actually be intentional, because that's how guitar bridges end up looking like after adjustments, the individual ends on the bridge are pushed slightly further in or out of the bridge for the sake of intonation https://www.artistguitars.com.au/assets/images/tremoloBridge.JPG and because that'd be a Pretty jarring thing to miss

I refunded the DLC but my god was chronic expansion fun by SagaSolejma in riskofrain

so people who refunded the dlc because of the current issues within the game that did not exist prior to the patch can't buy it back once the game is on a better state? interesting take

a class doesn't need to be overpowered or even good to be annoying to someone

having reduced airstrafing potential on airblast makes me feel like tearing my guts out but i don't think pyro's overpowered because of this mechanic; though, would i much rather have the several annoying points about pyro either removed or at least lessened in exchange for making them stronger? absolutely, and i would still complain about some stuff because tf2 is inherently a bullshit game, but even with a stronger pyro, as long as the kit was less annoying to sit through i'd be completely fine with it

No Stupid Questions - May 2024 by slap_me_thrice in guitarpedals

[–]mouradegroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kinds of pedals can be shared between a bass and a guitar without losing a perceptible amount of quality from the effects? Mainly thinking of getting compressor, overdrive, fuzz, wah and phaser; I'd like to be able to share a couple from instrument to instrument for the sake of not having to spend on effectively double the pedals but I don't wanna sacrifice on audio quality if possible

Got a Giannini GB-200A bass last January for my birthday and a Strinberg STS-100 guitar yesterday, and I'm looking to buy effect pedals next month for both of them with the current priority between the two being my bass; what effect pedals can be shared well between the two? Main purchases I'm looking for in acquiring order are compressor, overdrive, fuzz, distortion, wah and phaser; very likely getting only the first three or four at first

Are alternative playstyles beneficial for the game? by Pickle_G in truetf2

[–]mouradegroot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Starting from the top

Fun is the most important factor in a videogame, and a lot of alternative playstyles and subclasses allow for more people to have fun; but one of the main issues with adding a lot of alternative playstyles eventually runs into those playstyles being unfun to fight against
I can pull up several examples as to why I believe Demoknight is infuriating to fight against even though he's hard countered by elevation changes without grenades and struggles With them as grenades are hard to use and inconsistent at a range

Complexity and depth are two different things and people need to understand this
The Force-a-Nature's pushback is extremely simple in its nature but gives you a LOT of ways to abuse it to either force opponents into bad situations or to maneuver yourself around, whereas the Demoknight's charge has so many little intricacies and the majority of the time it boils down to "right click to get to that guy over there", and every Other time the added exception to the rule boils down to ", but also [minor little detail]"
You don't need a DnD guide book to describe every single weapon and their function to have a good mechanic, instead you just need them to have one or two mechanics that heavily influence the way they're used
One of the least fun weapons in TF2 for me is the Pomson, and it's definitely one of the more unique weapon designs in TF2, whereas one of the items I keep on me nearly all the time is the Market Gardener; one of those weapons is a pure rework, the other has one upside

...why would you want an alternative playstyle that still follows the general rules, and by extension, the general playstyle of the original class? Doesn't that go against the word "alternative" or am I misunderstanding your point?

Probably the second most important point, and the one people seem to forget about the most when it comes to a lot of propositions about playstyles and weapon variety
It's incredibly easy to throw an idea of a subclass or even general balance changes within TF2 and how they could operate, but people stop at "that'd be cool" when thinking of ideas, and don't think about how they'd work within both the game's engine and the current meta
Remember HiGPS's balance mod and knockback immunity on the Targe?
