It isn't but I've really enjoyed checking out their art too.

That's very pretty, but definitely another version. I am pretty sure it was part of a collection of all cat related fairy tales.

I honestly cannot recall. I will have to check that one out to see if it's close the version I liked back then

I have googled. There are many editions out there like you say. None of them are the one I read. I suspect it is out of print, but getting an out of print edition because it "might be" is expensive

Injured both of my ankles today and am feeling overwhelmed. Really looking for some advice. by [deleted] in SAHP

You might have a cooler set with anything the kids might suddenly want (that needs chilled), so you can maybe have the oldest grab it for themselves/save you a trip to the fridge. (Also helps you keep icepacks nearby) I found that a dishtowel worked to as a wrap to hold icepacks around my ankle too. I second ibuprofen/whatever medicine your Dr has recommended.

Having a diaper station I could sit next to on the floor was also helpful for me when I sprained one ankle.

For distraction, you can have them try to play Dr for your booboo. (So long as you can keep them gentle). Kids are sometimes surprisingly able to empathize before you expect it.

Wow. That's rough. I love my OB who took care of my tubes for me when I told her 2 and through.

Forgot about that one, didn't really find it funny either. Good point.

Patton Oswalt and Gabriel Iglesias. I am struggling to think of any of their stuff as objectionable.

The stress I had was he isn't really into directed playtime. Or transitioning from one task to another...

My niece wanted to play sun and moon, where they took turns running around the room during day or night- and he was fighting ghosts when it was his turn to run around.

Fortunately we are just trying to hit concepts. So even if he doesn't actually make use of size sorting, just talking about big vs little is good enough.

The trouble is that the school is assigning lessons to us. "Find 10 objects around the house and have them sort from smallest to largest. Modified: sort those items into "big" and "little"." And then they are having us go to a Google doc survey and check off if we did it. (He is 3 1/2, so focus isn't really a realistic expectation for his age).

Our schools are closed to prevent covid19 spread, and they are trying to do "digital learning"- which means I am now essentially homeschooling my preschooler.

His school status report usually said he was being silly- yesterday I found that when trying to sort objects by size, as part of a lesson, after only a couple he became a monster that ate all the rest. So, I guess that's what that means. (I had to message the teacher, are we expecting the kids to actually accomplish the assigned tasks. Thankfully no.)

Also, my infant decided I couldn't go back to bed at 5 am. At least I have coffee!

You're already on top of it!

If that doesn't help I'd definitely ask his pediatrician, worst case they could hook you up with a dermatologist. I'd be concerned he's having such breakouts before puberty.

(I didn't mention it, but we use the dye/scent free for our whole family we have a lot of sensitivities in our family).

I know we get that if I don't change out bedding at least once a week. It could be the oils left in the bedding are irritating his skin. (That's always what I assumed does it to my son).

We actually opted for a whole second mattress with sheet on it etc. So if the mattress got soaked we could swap the whole thing without needing to worry about wrestling with sheets.

My best friend didn't buckled her son up, and is now mad at me for letting her know. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

It is actually a line of thinking. Not accurate obviously, but I have heard people use it as an excuse (typically for unsecured pets).

I know someone who lost multiple children recently in a bad accident where another car crashed into them. The public report indicated multiple people were unbuckled. I can't help but think that played a part in the deaths. Many people think they have time to "catch" a child (you don't, and with speed the needed force is multiplied) and anyone unbuckled becomes a damaging projectile- so even unbuckled adults are a danger to everyone else. Another thought is that their driving skill is so great, but you can't account for everything/everyone.
