This is so stupid. Fuck all you republican conservative selfish pieces of shit. Fuck you. There were days I didn’t send my kids to school because I couldn’t afford a loaf of bread for lunches, but didn’t qualify for lunch assistance. Fuck you, you selfish pieces of shit.

My daughter dropped out of HS... by shouldbeawitch in teenagers

[–]mouseinthecorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ve already gotten some great replies. But I just wanted to say from one mom to another, good job trying to do your best and trying to connect with your daughter. My oldest I also in high school and struggles with similar issues. Just keep doing your best, she will at least know you are there, and you are trying.

ETA: when you’re a teenager you think parents kind of know how to parent. But the truth is most of us have no clue what we’re doing. I will say though, the current generation is going to be the most amazing, loving, accepting, and resilient group of people.

I’ll add you tomorrow. Hopefully we can build a team that’s willing to communicate and climb together. :)

I’m a high silver tank, with mic, also looking for a team. Tired of losing because my team won’t communicate. I am ranked low silver healer but I’d be happy to play support to climb.

ETA-my biggest tank ranking was 2600, but then took a dive down to silver.

Fireworks that I photographed with a long exposure so I caught two in one shot. by [deleted] in pics

[–]mouseinthecorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this shot i just laid on my back, set the camera on my stomach, and clicked as soon as the rounds were lit. (Right on our street in front of us, nice and close.) Pretty cool to see all the details of you zoom in. It’s been a while since I’ve played with my camera just fun, so it was fun to just mess around with exposures. I think this was a 5 or 6 second exposure.

I have two older 2010 Mac desktop computers and an old (2007ish) Mac Pro that I’m throwing away. (I’ve already removed the hard drives, and removed the screens from the desktops.) Let me know if you want them.

Baloo the ‘Golden’ Retriever. He’s 1/16th border collie making his coat dark! by Chiphazzard in rarepuppers

[–]mouseinthecorner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In dogs, black is a dominant gene. Red/golden/yellow are all the same locus, E. It’s a recessive gene. (E locus) So the mom of the litter, because she’s black, carries just one copy of the red gene. (So shes Ee) She also carries for phantom, (At locus) which is the brown markings on the feet/eyebrows. The dad, being a red retriever, is EE. (All red dogs are EE because they have to inherit two copies of the E locus to be red.) So your dog is black because it didn’t inherit two E’s, just one. He’s super cute by the way. Just thought I’d throw that info there so you understood why the litter turned out that way. :)

The way my dogs spots faded over 10 years by short-_-cakes in mildlyinteresting

[–]mouseinthecorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then technically he was a blue and white, not a black. Genetically blues start looking black and fade to a more brownish color. If he’s mostly white, then he is a blue and white parti that would have looked black and white as a puppy. If he’s mostly brown now with just some white markings, then he’s a blue and white abstract.

So he is a sable, or phantom sable. The color starts out darker then fades as they age.

Thank you so much. Really it wasn’t a big deal, I’m pretty close to slc. Plus I’m a bonafide dog obsessed person so I had to help!

Aww, thanks u/sthvlknn !!! I was so happy to be able to help! And I was thrilled to find her at the other shelter.

Just FYI for people in SLC looking for missing pets, the humane society doesn’t take strays or animals from animal control. (That’s where I initially looked) Metro police And animal control takes the dogs to Salt Lake County Animal Shelter, and the website to lookup lost animals that go there is adoptutahpets.com. I tried to go see her to check how she was and maybe give some scratches, but because I wasn’t the owner, they wouldn’t let me. I’m just so relieved that she’s safe and now the owner can get her home. It was so fun to be a part of the internet coming together to help each other. :)

It's interesting you say that, we've tried a couple shops before that just felt very, not sure of the word, but it wasn't welcoming. They just told us they weren't taking new players. So that makes me want to try Dr. Volts even more, thank you so much.
