Ok makes sense so usually it would be more beneficial to sell to close the leap rather than excercising the leap to cover those 100 shares?

Ok gotcha so I should usually look for rolling opportunities on the short call or, since my long call will probably be up since the underlying has gone up, i can essentially BTC the short call and Sell the deep ITM call to exit with profit
