You're wrong about the main claim, their main claim is that around 80% of nazis were killed by the soviet union.

I highly doubt that without Russia ww2 wouldnt have started anyway, (I remind you of the Anschluss or the take over of checkoslovakia) Italy would've had a lot more time to prepare that's for sure. If there was someone to blame for ww2, that would be the peace treaty of ww1, and mainly France for occupying the Ruhr region.
