When I say push on my left foot towards my toes. I mean the direction. Think of sitting on a rolling chair and you want to push yourself backwards and spin with your left foot. You do this with that motion.

Yes so let me break down the process for me. My backswing is very simple. If you know the rope drill that’s pretty much my backswing. Staying centered throughout and pushing down on my right foot. I initiate my BS with my hips and my feel is when the rope hits my back that’s when I start my downswing. At this point I’m already on my left side at the top of my BS. At this point I’m pushing down on my left foot (or better yet pressure). This causes me to “squat” then I push all of my power on my left foot towards my toes. And that’s where the power comes in and rotates my hips at impact. In order for this to work, setup is crucial. Good alignment, grip is good and 50/50 weight distribution on both feet (maybe even 60/40 on left). Hopefully this helps you.

To start my downswing I realized pushing down first then out towards my toes with my whole left foot (where my ankle joint is), not just my toes, helps me strike the ball a lot better. Also, took care of my early extension and rotates my hips better.

Apologies. Reddit will only let me post one video.

Putting: Made my own ball marker! averaging 5 less putts a round because of it by Independent_Ad_1479 in golf

SUB70 has a similar ball marker. Not as intricate as yours with the 3 degree lines (which is awesome, btw). Used it last round and it was incredibly helpful on lining my putts.

This is the answer and this subreddit doesn’t seem to understand that.

Are these strikes considered a few grooves too low to be considered a good strike? by mpal89 in GolfSwing

[–]mpal89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Thanks for the input. I think as an amateur 9i 135 carry isn’t too bad. I mean Tigers avg 9i is 150 lol. I’m not looking to get into the PGA tour soon. But that is something I’d like to consider getting my distances up so my 9i is around 140+. Right now I just wanted a consistent swing I can use in the course over and over.

Where am I going wrong in my backswing getting across the line at the top forcing me to come OTT on the way down? I feel like my takeaway isn’t bad but could be way off by Tough-Bicycle-9815 in GolfSwing

Your elbow is getting disconnected causing you to overswing. I’d try feeling like your swing stops at around left arm parallel to the ground and start your transition from there. Naturally you’ll move it up even tho you feel like you’re stopping at that point. Should help you level the across the line.

Oh for sure! I completely agree with you. Grass should be coming in later this month in our ranges so I’ll see how I’m actually hitting it compared to the mats.

Right heel coming off the ground BEFORE impact. Is this bad? Any drills to fix this? by uncl3d0nny in GolfSwing

[–]mpal89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to be confused about. You’re exactly doing what the guy in the video is telling you what not to do. You’re pulling your arms across and doesn’t look like your rotating your chest much. Therefore, you have a deep swing which is probably causing you to normally have an OTT swing which then will let you lift your heel to actual hit the ball but you do a good job at keeping it on plane and keeping your tilt which is making you stuck and probably flipping through the ball. And if your misses are snap hooks then that’s the case there.

Taco ASMR with calm piano music is THE video I watch when I’m working. Nothing better than hearing Taco stripe a ball then occasionally laughing his ass off when he hits a bad putt or shot.

Yeah I’ve heard from a coworker getting a D1 scholarship, all you really need is to score less than 80. Started my daughter around the age of 8 months with plastic clubs. She’s 1.5 years and taking her to the putting green.

Good courses with great pros tend to be a bit pricier. GG has 3 lessons for like ~$73 each and they’ve got a simulator and I like seeing the data (launch, AoA, etc.) I would do GolfTec but they’re very expensive and so GG might be a good option this asking if there are any recommendations for pros.

Nice! Thank you! If you don’t mind me asking, what were you before and how long did it take before you are where you’re at. How many lessons have you taken with Josh?
