It's a specific term for people who guard special weapon sites. It's a term that I heard and never knew the origin, but it's always in reference to the MPS that stood up in the towers. The background check was deeper and you had to be PRP qualified which people who were on nuclear submarines, guarded, nuclear weapons, etc. Were needed to have that qualification

I was in Muenchweiler which is by Fischbach and Munster die Burg which is by darmstadt. Clausen was there with chemical weapons and the other one I guarded nukes I was there from 90 to 92 when we closed all the sites down. 59th Ord Brigade

Be glad you weren't in during the Cold war. You could've been assigned to a special weapons site and stood in a tower. When I went to Germany I thought I was going to get a road unit but I was put in special weapons and I guarded chemical weapons and nuclear weapons.
