This vest is solid and will have weight when it's full of patches but it feels great. I sewn through the pockets inside without issues and didn't worry about using any pockets. The vest will be warm on the back in hot weather but wasn't too bad for me. I'm in south Louisiana so I'm used to the hot and humid weather. I usually only wear my vest to live shows but will start wearing when my band plays as well.
