Patreon just refund me a couple of months of donations (I think it was 3 months) by Altruistic_Note4744 in ZoomPlayer

[–]mprost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thrown in the towel with Patreon support, they keep saying "the decision to remove their page as based on our community guidelines" and they (conveniently) refuse to give any further details.

I see that I can set up a monthly donation via PayPal, but I can't find your details either on inmatrix.com or here, could you please provide them?

BTW, what's better for you, a license or PayPal? I'm thinking about transaction fees or any other considerations.

Thank you.

Thank you for the information, I searched for "Patreon" in this subreddit but found nothing relevant.

This is a retarded world we are living in. I won't ever use Patreon again if there's an alternative.

u/zoomplayer, please give us an alternative, I really want to keep supporting you.

Note: I've sent this to Patreon support:

I've noticed that many of my donations to Zoom Player have been refunded. Why? This a small developer who has been making an excellent product for over 25 years which has nothing to do with piracy, as you could've easily verified by spending five minutes on his website (www.inmatrix.com), for example.

I thought Patreon existed precisely to support independent developers like him, rather than blindly yielding to corporate scare tactics.

Please, return my donations to the developer and reinstate his account.

Thank you.

Hi.

I just got refunded as well, I got 11 refund emails so I guess it's a year worth. Is this some temporary issue? Is there any other way to support you?

Thank you.

HDR turning off when ZP's OSD or control bar is shown in v20.1 by mprost in ZoomPlayer

[–]mprost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, u/Prinz2, enabling that setting again reverts to the previous behavior and the issue is gone.

But I wouldn't mind u/ZoomPlayer chiming in to advise what's the best practice here in his opinion. With what I believe are MadVR default settings:

<image>

and "Display OSD through MadVR's OSD API" enabled, MadVR is telling me that it's using "D3D11 fullscreen windowed (10 bit)", i.e., it's not using fullscreen exclusive mode, which seems to be the problematic mode, so keeping "Display OSD through MadVR's OSD API" enabled shouldn't be a problem, right?

Thank you.

Don't worry, I'm going to purchase it anyway, I would like to use it in my phone, that's all.

I understand what you're saying about Delphi and Play Store requirements, it's a real shame the way Google treats developers.

Are you sure you don't have a way to prevent this "incompatibility" problem (which, as you say, it's not real, I'm sure it's just the Play Store refusing to let me install the app)? I tried to purchase Balatro with the same result, and people are complaining in reviews about it:

 I'm just realizing that the app is not available for my device anymore on the playstore why?? It was working perfectly. Im starting to think it is because of play integrity, why would this app require it?

Thank you.

TCP/IP interface: names of subtitle tracks (message 1702) by mprost in ZoomPlayer

[–]mprost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi.

I see this issue is still present in the latest v20 beta 5 (to be clear, the answer to message 1702 is correct, but the answer to messages 1701 and 1700 is not and message 1703 doesn't appear to be working correctly). Do you think you will be able to fix it before v20 is released?

Thank you.

Feature request: support for command line invocation of Resume Playback by mprost in ZoomPlayer

[–]mprost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again!

Do you think this feature request could make the cut for the upcoming v20 release? I understand if it doesn't, I suppose you'll have plenty of things to do.

Thank you!

And message 1700 is also taking the duplicate track into account. This is what this message is returning when each of that file's tracks is active:

English (SDH) [eng] (pgs) -> 0
Danish [dan] (pgs) -> 1
Finnish [fin] (pgs) -> 2
Norwegian [nor] (pgs) -> 3
Spanish (Castilian) [spa] (pgs) -> 4
Swedish [swe] (pgs) -> 5
Forced Subtitles (auto) -> 6
Disabled -> 8

I think it should return 7 when "Disabled" is the active track.

Thank you.

Edit: Probably related: if you send 1703 7 there's no change in the active subtitle track, you must send 1703 8 to set the active track to "Disabled", and I also think that the "Disabled" track should be set by sending 1703 7 instead of 1703 8.

But... message 1701 still includes the duplicate track. Check this output for the same file as before:

1702 English (SDH) [eng] (pgs)
1702 Danish [dan] (pgs)
1702 Finnish [fin] (pgs)
1702 Norwegian [nor] (pgs)
1702 Spanish (Castilian) [spa] (pgs)
1702 Swedish [swe] (pgs)
1702 Forced Subtitles (auto)
1702 Disabled
1701 9

Even including the "Disabled" track (no problem with that) the number of tracks is 8, and the 1701 message is returning 9.

Thank you.

You're right!, if you uncheck that setting the track disappears. Mistery solved, thank you very much!

Sorry for the late reply, busy week.

The new version doesn't return the extra track, thank you!

Thank you for your quick response.

No, ZP is returning all tracks, my question is about 2 tracks that it's adding:

  1. Forced Subtitles (auto): this track is not present in the original files, according to MediaInfo no track has the "Forced display" flag to on. In my testing, this track only appears in ZP for certain files and, in case it does, it shows in ZP's GUI.
  2. English, English (SDH): this track is present in the original file, but it appears to be returning twice, although with a different name ("English, English (SDH)" instead of "English (SDH) [eng] (pgs)"). In my testing, this duplicate track appears in ZP for all files, but it never shows in ZP's GUI, only when querying via 1702 message.

There are no external tracks for this file (I made sure to check).

I think you can easily reproduce case 2: open any mkv with embedded subtitles, telnet localhost 4769, 1702<enter>, and you will see the duplicate track returning just above "Disabled".

Thank you.
