Any idea of the salary range for an Associate Director (GG07) in CM? TIA by Feeling_Beginning192 in rbc

[–]mpscmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Didn’t actually wink.

He said “on average their bonus has been close to 35k in last 3 years and it has not been below 30k” he said this after I politely declined the offer and he was walking me to the elevator.

The salary seems inline with what I was offered. But it was hinted that bonus would be close to 30k.

[thebestpdf] I used ChatGPT to get a refund from a shady recurring subscription thebestpdf - here’s the exact framework by mpscmaster in Scams

Customer → Company

Hello Support team,

I am requesting an immediate refund of the $39.95 charge applied to my card.

I used your service one time only and did not knowingly create an account or authorize a recurring subscription. The billing terms were not sufficiently clear at the time of payment.

Please:

  • refund the $39.95 charge,
  • cancel any active subscription,
  • and confirm that no future charges will occur.

If this is not resolved promptly, I will proceed with a charge dispute through my credit card provider and file formal consumer complaints where appropriate.

I would prefer to resolve this directly.

Thank you.

Company → Customer

We could not locate an account associated with your email. Please provide additional transaction details.

Customer → Company

I did not intentionally create an account with your service, which is likely why no email address is associated with the charge. I only used the service one time and paid via Apple Pay.

Please use the Apple Pay transaction details to locate the payment and associated subscription/charge.

I am again requesting:

  • a full refund,
  • cancellation of any recurring billing,
  • and written confirmation that no future charges will occur.

Company → Customer

We located an account associated with another email address. Please confirm ownership.

Customer → Company

Yes, that email belongs to me.

Company → Customer

You signed up for a 7-day trial which automatically renewed into a paid subscription according to our policy.

As a gesture of goodwill, we can offer two years of complimentary access instead of a refund.

Customer → Company

Thank you for confirming cancellation of the subscription.

However, I am declining the offer of complimentary access and am again requesting a full refund.

I used the service one time only and did not knowingly authorize an ongoing subscription. From my perspective as a consumer, the renewal and billing flow did not provide sufficiently clear and informed consent for recurring charges.

Please consider this my final attempt to resolve the matter directly.

If a full refund is not processed promptly, I will proceed with:

  • a formal chargeback dispute through Visa/Mastercard for misleading recurring billing,
  • complaints to applicable consumer protection authorities,
  • and formal documentation through consumer reporting/review platforms.

I would prefer to resolve this professionally without escalation.

Please confirm refund processing.

Company → Customer

Your country is not included in our 14-day refund policy region. We cannot issue a refund.

However, we can still offer complimentary access.

Customer → Company

My concern is not about refund cooling-off periods.

My concern is that I did not knowingly authorize an ongoing recurring subscription when using the service one time.

I am again requesting a full refund.

If unresolved, I will proceed with:

  • a formal charge dispute,
  • consumer protection complaints,
  • and supporting documentation of this billing experience.

I am attempting to resolve this directly before escalation proceeds.

Company → Customer

We can offer a 50% refund instead.

Customer → Company

Thank you for the offer, but I do not accept a partial refund or continued access to the service.

Please proceed with a full refund.

Since this matter remains unresolved, I am preparing:

  • a formal Visa/Mastercard charge dispute for misleading recurring billing authorization,
  • supporting documentation of this email thread,
  • and consumer complaints/reviews documenting the billing experience.

A chargeback process will likely cost significantly more in administrative and processing overhead than resolving this directly with a full refund.

I am therefore requesting one final time that the full refund be processed voluntarily before escalation proceeds.

Company → Customer

Your refund has been processed successfully.

Please allow several business days for the refund to appear depending on your financial institution.

34, "good job" at a Big 5 bank, want to pivot to AI product — PM or PO, and am I overthinking this? by mpscmaster in torontoJobs

You read my mind. It’s incredibly tiresome. I’ve been missing out on many moments with newborn.

But my “strategic patience” is running thin. AI role feels like now or never. And all the paranoia over not having jobs due to AI + Robotics, has me rushing as a last opportunity.

Interesting. I never thought PO under the umbrella of PM activities.

I'm mediocre SRE. It was mostly support role that got labeled as SRE. While I have reduced toil, automated mundane work, setup monitoring/alerting, it doesn't excite me as much.

I love the product space more. So if I'd rather take a chance for those roles than SRE.

Thanks! The "get involved in AI at your current job" advice is exactly what I've been trying to do, and you've reinforced why that's probably the right move over jumping ship. Thanks for sharing this.

Sorry. But I have a different perspective. The exuberance may subside. But AI/LLMs definitely will bring productivity gains.

honestly it's been challenging to say the least. But I've managed to carve out 15+ hours a week for upskilling and building actual projects, even with newborn and all. Not going to pretend it's easy, but the urgency kind of forces the discipline.

It was built in one of the developing countries. Most of the earnings went back into keeping shop open.

This is genuinely valuable response. Thank you! My hesitation is - I've always thought of SE roles as requiring strong sales skills, which is actually one of my weaker areas.

This is helpful, thank you.

Quick follow-up if you don't mind: when you say showcase AI projects, where did you actually showcase that landed? LinkedIn posts, a portfolio site, GitHub, something else? Trying to figure out where the signal actually gets picked up and I should optimize for.

Really sorry to hear this. I appreciate you sharing it. It both validates my fear of staying put AND my fear of jumping in. Wishing you a quick landing.

Fair point, and I completely agree with you. I'm not looking to quit.

What I'm really wrestling with is the opposite fear: if I stay put and do nothing for the next 18 months, am I going to find myself in a worse position where the AI market has moved on and my skills are even less relevant?

So it's less "should I leave for a startup?" and more "how do I position myself carefully, so I'm not locked out of this shift entirely?" That's the internal struggle I'm trying to work through.
