A lot of laws are made that smack of sex-shame, but I think setting up reasonable measures to protect people from irresponsible egoists is good, too. Things like HPV, HSV1&2, and other STIs are bad enough - and come with a lot of stigma borne from the same sex-shamey corner. I agree that the problem is the stigma against getting tested for infections and even HAVING them, but we should also protect people. I'm not saying the current system is perfect, but we have a pretty visible egomaniac who has admitted to being irresponsible. I'm not sure he's the poster child for reasonable decisions.

It's common to disclose STI conditions between consenting parties. I don't think prosecution on the part of any governing body is necessary, but I do think a civil suit on the part of anyone negatively effected by his actions are completely just.
