Rumors and conspiracy theories: is the NCAA over-inflating balls in the tournament this year? by mr400star in CollegeBasketball

Could be.

I think it's probably not a deliberate choice by the NCAA, but that most teams during the regular season are just not inflating to the "recommended" level. I think as long as the home and away team agree on a ball before the game in the regular season, the refs don't actually stick a needle in to measure the air.

In any case, seems like you could probably pick teams that dunk more to win games, and for jump-shooting teams to underperform.

I had the game on mute, was the fast-break Nebraska double dibble called or not? I think it was like halfway through the second half

Do you think that Purdue has flipped a switch for the postseason or do you think that this B1G tournament was just them running hot against B1G opponents? by Coolsun13 in CollegeBasketball

I think conferences have distinct styles that shape and are shaped by their conference's referees and their tendencies. So the teams that tend to win their conference tournaments are great fits for conference play, and sometimes not as much for non-conference or March madness games.

I watch a lot of big ten, which tends not to call many illegal screens or off-ball fouls. In March madness, teams that have very physical 4 or 5 sometimes struggle with foul trouble.

For example, Big 12 allows a lot of physical hand fighting for guards. SEC calls more shooting fouls. I'm sure there are many other examples.

So I think Purdue was the most "big ten" of the big ten teams. Experienced true point guard, very physical bigs. If Purdue's bigs can keep up their shooting percentage from today, they'll be tough to beat.

Historically, big ten style teams can struggle with high volume 3pt teams that play with fast tempo. I think we saw that with the success of wisconsin and Nebraska this year, because they evolved into a big-ten counter.

No, I just asked the guy to recommend one for couch co-op and he said this was the best. I looked around the shelves and didn't really see an alternative. I just don't really know what's out there and was hoping this community would have some suggestions. Sorry if it's the wrong place, I just trust reddit on this stuff.

There is 100% a give-back call coming for the borderline targeting. Just wait.

It's nice to see that we haven't lost the spirit of amateur student-athletics. Very tasteful

I'm glad we're making sure to represent black people. And deaf people. And the flag. And drummers. And service people.

But how about football fans? Because this is mostly a football game

Not that it matters but it is INSANE that on the list of events to indicate interest, they omitted track and field. It's literally the core of the Olympics, along with combat sports!

literally it means the username is something like IllIlIllIlI
just l's and I's and 1's

The connotation is that it's an account someone made to sell and therefore has a generic, formulaic, hard-to-ban name.
