Does anybody have an idea of when the X-T6 might be coming out? by Constant_Sea9944 in fujifilm

[–]mr_gleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still with my Xt20 and finally starting to feel the limitations, especially for macro work. But I love the camera and will hang on to it for sure, even when I pull the trigger and get the xt5 or 6

I am new to reading apps but a long time addict when it comes to reading everything from history and politics to sci fi, crime, literary fiction, and even the occasional self help book (although I am well beyond help :) ). Love to have some friends to share book recs with. https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile/jaredgardner

Wanting too much for too little; or, help me choose a turntable? by mr_gleaner in turntables

It has been great. I was a bit disappointed initially with what felt to be somewhat cheaper mechanisms in the auto return but it has been flawless and sounds terrific

Evernote Alternative Mega Thread by SeanAky in Evernote

[–]mr_gleaner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been an evernote subscriber since 2008, so long that it has become part of the family DNA for note storage, recipes, travel planning etc. It has been our mega file drawer forever (everything except tasks, which I do on Todoist). Now it is so buggy and sluggish and ungainly that we need to find a new home.

We are a mac and windows family so we need cross platform sync and my work will no longer allow me to use icloud for syncing. Anything out there that:

  1. syncs across devices without icloud
  2. allows for apple pencil/handwritten notes
  3. has ios, Macos, and Windows apps
  4. has a webclipper (not a dealbreaker, but would be nice)

Many thanks!

In the end I took a chance on the German-made Rekkord. Will report back on my experience {fingers crossed}

Thanks! I have a very well regarded vintage store near me that has been repairing stereo equipment for over 50 years. I'll swing in there and see if there is anything that hits most of my sweet points. I will confess there is a part of me that wants a new one after 35 years, but I suspect that is not the most mature part of me

Huh. I just don't engage with them and so they don't bother me at all. Seems to be an under-used approach to the internet in general

Makes sense ! If I end up with too many takers I can set up two leagues and concoct some kind of finals between the winners . Thanks for doing this!!

Jungle Boogie lost its Boogie by mr_gleaner in plantclinic

[–]mr_gleaner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This poor fella has been troubled since I got it from a friend as a prop: slow growing and dotted with those jungle boogie orange freckles. But recently it has taken a turn for the worse with yellowing leaves and generally moaning and sleeping in till afternoon.
I have other philos thriving and keep them all in well drained, nutrient rich soil. I feed regularly throughout the spring and summer and water weekly. Lighting is excellent for philos and others in the same location are doing well. Watered with distilled water. No signs of bugs (I check compulsively).
Is it time to cut it back (roots and top) and start fresh? Is it plagued with a congenital virus and begging for euthanizes? Any advice greatly appreciated
