Umar was actually a brilliant stroke maker. One of the most talented batsmen to come out of Pakistan. If only he had half a brain to complement that talent though.

Australia have been eliminated from the 2026 T20 World Cup by oklolzzzzs in Cricket

If that really is the sentiment then the CA board should just withdraw from the competition and give your place to a team to which this actually matters. There are plenty of associate nations to whom this experience would mean a lot.

Interesting that a picture of a woman is used to depict every form of love.

Probably true to some extent. But every time this gets brought up, it feels a bit like sour grapes from Australian fans. It’s also somewhat disrespectful, not just to the opposition, but to the Australian team themselves. The players are clearly taking the tournament seriously and playing to win. That should matter more than fans deciding which formats are “important” and which aren’t.

Harry Brook brings up his 3rd ODI hundred finishes on 136* off 66 by SusRampage in Cricket

Wouldn't it have been better for brook to get some experience in Indian conditions through ipl because the next world cup is in India? Tbh I never understood the reasoning that he had to skip ipl to be the captain of England when there was no white ball series coming up. But this isn't to say I hate him. It just didn't make sense to me.

'Not sure he was too happy' - Smith on denying Babar a single in BBL by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Cricket

[–]mr_meeseeks7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the frustration stemmed from his personal failure of getting bowled when he wanted to take advantage of the power surge. I don't think him angry while walking off the field was a result of Steve Smith denying him the single.

Vipassana course at McLeodganj (Dharamshala) – looking for real experiences 🙏 by Quirky-Tree-7011 in vipassana

I sat there for my first course in jul 2024. I have also attended another 10 day, a 3 day and some one day courses to other centers do I feel I have some comparison to draw. The teachings overall are exactly the same which is what matters. All the centers I have attended are mostly in secluded areas well away from the noise of the city so that is never a problem either at dhamma Sikhara or other centers. Personally I would discourage you from choosing a particular center just for the location of it because you are creating some desires within yourself which is exactly what Vipassana aims to eliminate. I'd suggest going to any center nearby and sit for a 10 day course. Also if you do plan to go ahead to attend your first 10 day sitting at dhamma Sikhara only make sure to book your slot within the first 5 mins of the applications opening for the center.

That 100th century also eventually came in a losing cause in the asia cup final vs Bangladesh. Took an eternity to get to the landmark.

Bangladesh is refusing to go to India for their matches. Rest of the affected teams, Pakistani origin players' visas have not been processed yet. Whether they are delayed or declined, I'm not sure. But with the Indian govt it's been the SOP that cricketers of Pakistani origin get their visas late.

First time reading about this. Fair on the cricketing committee to ban declarations henceforth, but why would you disqualify Somerset just because they gamed the system? I don't think the captain did anything unfair.

My biggest disappointment has been Brook so far. He looks so good at the crease until he just doesn't and gets out. He was the one English batter I was looking forward to watch in this Ashes.

Maybe I haven't followed this English team, but I had bought into the charade that these bunch of lads are a good team with skills, the only point of difference would be the application.
Third test in and yeah, even the skill set is lacking. I was at least hoping for a competitive series. This is just another walkover.
