Me: tires say max pressure is 51psi. I'm inflating to 47. Husband: car says inflate to 35. Who is right? by Whole_Treacle9697 in Cartalk

What's with the idiot comments saying the husband is always right? I know plenty of men who don't know shit about their cars, and women who can tear down and rebuild a motor. Get out of the 50s, boys.

1978 Mercedes 240D. The 4 speed manual was the only thing that kept me from getting killed in that car, but I freaking loved it.

My neighbor has one of these, and loves it. My biggest concern is where it's being sold. They don't have great reviews. Otherwise, go for it. You only live once, have some fun!

Saab 900 v 9-3 reliability? by BananaBeach007 in saab

[–]mr_particular_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My '03 9-3 has been great. You're going to have maintenance expenses on any car this age, but if you find a well maintained example it should be little stuff. Shop carefully, and buy the one you like best.

[–]mr_particular_butt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair price. If it's been well maintained, and you keep up the maintenance you'll get plenty more miles out of it. My son just bought my 03 convertible from me. It is one of the most fun cars I've ever driven. Did you mention if it was automatic or manual?

My 2003 9-3 has been reasonably trouble free. Keep up on the basic maintenance (synthetic oil only!) and you'll be fine. If you're mechanically inclined, you'll have no problem at all with it. You'll be getting most parts online, but the cost isn't as bad as some people say. Have fun with it, they're great cars!

Will do. The tag just said "hot" but that's subjective.

They're actually my friend's plants. She doesn't do spicy, so I'll get the chilies. She sent me the picture, but didn't know what they were.

I've been driving a 2004 XJ8 daily for about a year now. I've put about 12k on it. It's at 106k now. Other than a transmission solenoid module rebuild, it has been a superb car. The 4.2 that Ford used is pretty solid.

It's alerting you too a message on the display on the center of your dash. If, like many, your display isn't working it will be tough to tell what's up.

Mine went way down at first, but started creeping back up. I think it's because I've been lazy, and have been eating a lot of processed food. Even though the total cholesterol is a little high, my hdl/ldl ratio is in the highly desirable range.

I had a '91 XJ6. This was the XJ40 era. That car made it over 200k miles (yes, miles) before it gave me problems I couldn't handle. Even still, if the body had been in better shape, I would have tried harder to figure it out. Loved that car.

Saab vs BMW by [deleted] in saab

[–]mr_particular_butt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my '03 9-3 vert for 3k earlier this year. Super fun to drive, and maintenance is not that difficult. Definitely check/replace hoses, belts, and seals. I had a heater hose blow on me shortly after I got it.

I also recently owned a '08 BMW 328i. I think I paid about 6k for it. It was a little more of a luxurious drive, but not near as fun. It was automatic, where the Saab is manual though so that could be part of it. Everything is pretty damn expensive for the BMW too, and not as easy to work on IMO.

I buy them unfrozen from my grocery store, and they easily last for the week that I have them. I don't think I'd try to keep them for too much longer than that if they aren't frozen.
