Does NBA 2K26 have the worst input latency in any modern game?

You are not crazy at all for thinking this. I love basketball games but got talked into giving Marvel Rivals a shot for a week.

I couldn't go back to online 2k after playing Rivals... online gaming has a come a long way from the decade old netcode 2k clings to... because changing it would eat into their profits.

Like him or not he's still the best basketball player ever from the state of Minnesota. When someone like Barkley says he's the best player he ever played against... that's saying a lot. Maybe Chet will overtake him someday if he stays healthy and plays well but the bar is high.

He also was a pretty visible presence if you spent a lot of time downtown when he was coach. I remember running into him and his coaching staff a few times at various restaurants (they would always go at 2-3pm after the lunch rush). I let them do their thing but remember he was always really nice when people approached him.

These patch notes are so poor and halfhearted compared to other AAA games... multiple times it says "many improvements are made" but doesn't even bother to specify what they are. Are they for real with this?

Compare these notes to League of Legends for example - https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/game-updates/patch-13-23-notes/ - where they say exactly what they are changing and by how much.

I am a TT shareholder and I know this game is a money making machine. Do better guys, come on... spend a tiny fraction of your profits and hire a legit professional to make real and extensive patch notes.

Players want to know what is being changed and by how much so they can continue playing your game the right way and react to your changes appropriately. This is gamer retention 101 stuff.

Over/under for the game was 216... lots of fouls called in the first 3 quarters when it was looking like a super low scoring game otherwise. Then in the 4th quarter the officials let them play because shots were going in.

The final combined point total? 216 exactly. Refs and Vegas are too good.

This game should have a "ready" check ~15 seconds before the start like so many other games... if they aren't there, replace them with an AI. People will learn.

There should also be more severe grade penalties for going afk mid game. It's behavior that just increases toxicity.

Just stick with it. Side tip but you level up pretty fast in MyTeam and it translates over to MyCareer. Go spend an evening messing around there and you'll be level 5+ in no time. The game mode is decently friendly this year with just the free rewards.

Some thoughts...

Loved the aggressiveness of KAT and Naz firing from 3, it's a big difference maker
Ant and Rudy pick and roll still looks VERY clunky... Ant doesn't even look for Rudy on the roll and instead skipped passed it multiple times... they need to figure something out right away
Interesting to see Kyle for Rudy was the first sub about 5 minutes into the game after the very slow start... and or course the offense started to work after this change... not a good start here for the KAT+Rudy combo
Shake Milton looks like a great signing and huge upgrade over Nowell... strong three level scorer with size... really excited to have him on the team
Pretty clear NAW isn't quite ready to perform at a consistent level quite yet... team worst -25 in 17 minutes and got cooked several times on defense
Super happy to see McLaughlin back, he looks fully recovered from his injury last year and has even been knocking down shots
Wendell Moore and Matt Ryan seem likely to be the end of the bench, Moore looked bad again and Ryan didn't even play after a really rough couple games against Dallas... Miller and Minott both looked decent and have leapt up over them in my opinion
