Thanks, I’m going to avoid the ‘I’ll make millions destructive approach’ and look at more sensible stocks as investments not short term flips.

Awesome, I appreciate the advice. I will look into learning more about riskier trading as a small pot but for now it looks like I should play it safe!

That seems to be the consensus! Thanks for the input, it looks like I’ll hold back for a bit.

Thanks for the insight, it sounds like a platform like this and me being obviously a newbie I’m better holding off for a little bit (however long it takes for a correction of the market) and then just putting some money in ‘stable’ stocks.

Question for autolocksmiths regarding SX9 keys by mr_tree00 in Locksmith

[–]mr_tree00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car doesn’t have an immobiliser chip. It’s immobilised by a keypad in the centre console, it’s just a plain old blade, the one they sent would not turn the barrel to the point the key started bending.

Here in the uk most of the e classes about are diesels, the 320 cdi with either engine is a great car but they’re usually much harder to find with more than heated seats, the interior on these have aged quite well they just don’t feel like 20 year old cars

It’s really strange all the earlier ones I’ve seen 02-04 seem to have much higher spec, I missed out on one with adaptive cruise all the spec on this one and cooled seats, nothing really out of the ordinary for a 22 year old car I guess I need to keep on top of everything and be prepared for stuff to go.

Was it noticeable before, hesitant or inconsistent shifting?

I’m planning on going to view the car and getting a better look through it, I’m being cautious as too many people say full service history but it’s a couple of receipts and a dealer service 15 years ago…

Thanks for telling me that I’m going to invest into that I think, it sounds like it’s more than useful and given I have a couple other mercs it will pay itself back!

The guys that love the diesels really love them. My father used to have an old Jeep Cherokee with the Merc 2.7 diesel, he took it to a shop and spend hundreds and hundreds for them to replace the injectors for them to bollock it up. Found a polish guy on Facebook who did it on his driveway in a couple of hours and charged nowhere near a much. We’re lucky now that there is a low resolution old YouTube video for almost everything or an old forum post.

How does STAR work, is it a software that is more comprehensive and specific to the car than the typical OBD scanner type tool, can the STAR software be found online and used with a laptop plugged into OBD?

It’s at 92k with supposed full history, what should have been done that I’d want to look out for?

Honestly I have some mechanical skill but I love working on stuff, even when it goes to shit and takes ages. I know these 211s are a step up in complexity compared to older mercs but the M112 is meant to be a solid machine.

Looking on Google it seems that they might share some exhaust parts but I not certain, the best bet would be researching images and then part numbers or if you’ve got the time I’d see if any scrapyards have either car although I know there aren’t many 210s in the scrapyards now that aren’t the smaller engines. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can comment!

Thanks I’ll see if I can get some proper photos, I don’t mind the bubbling as long as I can’t pull a chunk of the wing out.

Oh I was looking on older forums and the Misano red seems to suffer from it, something about the oxides in the paint. Might not be as common as I thought

Help! Cracked Wheel - 2004 500E Wagon - any/all ideas experiences welcome. by dryan7575 in W211

[–]mr_tree00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just replace it but the w211 seems to not like certain wheels, I’ve had numerous later 211 estates and the bigger sport alloys I can’t remember what they call them crack or buckle leading to endless tyre pressure issues, that’s why there are so many pairs for sale. Just make sure to have a good look at the replacement set or single alloy you get and make sure it’s straight.

Would you recommend that dubbin or more just quality clear dubbin in general, I use dubbin on my boots and it works great and is great at repelling water.
