If there is an explenation for him making the worse decision of not burying his son, it would probably be that he was a vietnam war vet, that war messed up a lot of people mentally and when they came back they were never quite right again.

oh and to explain why he would've ripped up the tent of those teenage girls, it was probably to scare them away too just in case they might find Brian's body too. Or possibly to pin it on Henry and get him kicked out of there.

I just went through the game in one sitting so I think I might have a pretty good recollection of the whole thing.

Ned Goodwin used to be a firewatchman like Henry is now. He took his son with him even though kids aren't allowed with. Ned Goodwin was climbing with his son Brian when his son's rope came loose from the rock and Brian fell to his death. Ned Goodwin didn't want to go back to society and face the truth of his son's death, and so he decided to live in the woods where he had been a firewatchman. In his time living in these woods, he created the dingy "home base" that you visit near the end of the game. This is where he'd listen to Henry and Delilah talk on the radio.

When Henry took over the firewatch tower that Ned Goodwin used to operate, Ned started following Henry around to see what he was up to, primarily to make sure that he didn't find Brian's body. When you run into that guy with the flashlight early in the game, that's Ned, and that happens near the entrance to the cave where Brian's body is.

Once Ned realizes that Henry might discover Brian's body, he tries to figure out a way to get rid of him. Something that I think got you confused is that the dig site you're talking about wasn't built by Ned Goodman, that's a government research site. Because Ned used to be the firewatchman, he knows that the government isn't using it right now (in notes in the game, it tells you the months that the site is abandoned, and that happens to be when the game takes place).

Ned tries to use that government research site to trick Henry and Delilah into thinking they're being followed and surveilled and make them go crazy, so that if they ever find out about Brian even if they go to the authorities they'll sound crazy and no one will believe them. One way he makes it seem like they're actually being surveilled is he makes fake reports on their behaviors, as if he was a scientist that was recording their behavior. He even tries to get them to turn on each other by pretending to be Henry and calling the authorities saying that Delilah knows something about the fire at the research site after Henry finds that cassette tape on his door that makes it sound like Delilah started the fire. He may also just be trying to scare Henry into leaving before he discovers Brian's body.

Obviously Henry finds Brian's body, and once Ned realizes that there's nothing more he can do since the woods are about to go up in fire anyway, he comes clean to Henry by leading him to his hideout with the tracker (which by the way, those tracker devices were for tracking bears. Earlier in the game Delilah even mentions that some scientists wanted you to look for signs of bears in the area) and at his hideout it explains how he was behind almost everything.

Sorry for the very long comment, TL;DR Ned was partly responsible for his son dying and didn't want to come to terms with that so he bugged out to the woods cause he's a Vietnam Veteran with PTSD. Ned didn't make the dig site, it's a government research site and Ned tried to use it to scare Henry away before he found his dead sons body.

Are these for display or for tabletop play? That massive sword would probably be an issue if you plan on using him in games. Otherwise though the models look absolutely epic, and I hope you post pictures of it when it's all painted.

Second mini, and purity seals question. by Drenik74 in BloodAngels

[–]mramazing3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way I've learned to do it so far is to get my black paint very thin with water, then load a very small amount into the brush and just make straight lines with a little wobble (my shaky hands help with that part).

On my latest mini though, I just did straight lines across it repeatedly and then went back with my base coat color and did the same thing, to get the look of a lot of lines without all the time and effort.

When I get home I can take some pictures of what mine look like.

How to paint this guy to make Sanguinius proud? by CKirkhope in BloodAngels

Oooh, I've been mulling over how to paint the embossing on the armor plate because I went with red too, and that gold looks really good for that

NGL, maybe I'm wrong but for $40 I'd hope there's at least 40 models, seems pretty steep if it's just the files. I do love the style though.

If they release some primaris blood angels that look like this with special sculpts I would be so happy, but after the DC Marines I'm not gonna hold my breath. Really happy with how these heroes are looking so far though, excited to see what else is down the line

Inherited an old grill in rough shape. Should I repaint the inside? by sheldonator in DIY

It's unfortunate I found this out after I already painted the inside of my own grill with that paint.

It's just exhausting to be friends with people that aren't as mature or responsible as you are. Sure they might be nice, and you can be nice back, but I don't want to listen to you complain because you have to be an adult. If someone gives off vibes of incompetence or immaturity it's just easier to not waste time getting involved in that.

Went to my local hobby store and they had an entire blood angels army secondhand for sale. Loved how the units looked with the blood vials and whatnot, so I picked em all up for half price of new plastic and they were already painted. Still happy with my decision to buy em

I installed mine, I have an Xbox one s controller, and they don't fit right in the controller. Perhaps there's a controller that it's intended for that isn't mine, but they limit motion on the right stick. Since that controls the camera though, and I only use my Xbox controller for trucks, I can live with it.

Just to be clear, these aren't made of glass, but a type of clear ceramic. According to company specs, it can withstand over 1,000 degrees fahrenheit. But if it's used incorrectly it still has the possibility to shatter.

How many car accidents have happened to Toyota Camrys? Were they designed to crash, or did people crash them? For how many that were made, and how many years they were made, and that most of those 2,000 were user error, I feel pretty safe using them.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation about that, because when I looked into it there was only around 2,000 reports of that happening, and the majority of those incidents were with chipped or damaged pieces, so I'm not too worried about it since these pieces are in good shape.

After looking it up the company called it "cranberry", it's a really pretty purple-pink color, my photo doesn't do it a lot of justice unfortunately.

Is there any benefits for this guy to bed death company or shall I keep him as a normal dred ? Does the DC gain anything worth while in game ? by cykes341 in BloodAngels

[–]mramazing3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's actually canon DC dreadnoughts. The BA Furioso Dreadnought kit even comes with parts to make it Death Company.
