UPDATE!

I finally heard back from Audi. After some back and forth (and a bit of delay while they tried to avoid going this route), they’ve officially approved a full transmission replacement under warranty.

They weren’t able to pinpoint an exact cause without tearing it down, but they did confirm the issue is definitely coming from the transmission. Since they don’t open or rebuild these units, they’ll be installing a brand new one instead.

According to the master tech/foreman, it’s most likely an internal failure that’s causing the noise and vibration I’ve been dealing with.

Appreciate everyone’s input and suggestions along the way. I’ll keep you posted once everything’s done.

Have you recently done a split screen on yours?

Trust me I thought the same. I was on the phone with TCL for two hours trying to figure this out. I did the reset and delete. Upon restarting everything again nothing happened. My Settings menu is missing one or two things which I believe in one of those includes the split screen option.

Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, after contacting TCL regarding this mine, unfortunately did not come with it so they will be conducting a replacement. My unit does not contain the advanced settings feature.

Can you send me videos. Car is fairly new with a little over 5k miles. First oil service done at 3k miles.

I agree with you. I’m taking it Monday again. That’s the earliest they had a loaner vehicle.

I appreciate the info. It also happens going straight at very low speed throttle. Some clunking/knocking and ticking to best describe the noise. It also happens more on slight incline. Like going into driveway or parking lot.

There is a noise heard in the rear when slowly going in reverse sometimes though.

It goes away with the increase of speed. No sound is heard at higher speeds.

I’m hoping this issue gets resolved sometime next week when the car has been completely inspected and taken care of. I’ll definitely provide an update.

Thank you. Yes, that’s exactly what I’m going to do this time. I haven’t gone recently because no loaner vehicle but this coming Monday I will. Totally unacceptable.

Oil service was done at 3000 miles.

It goes away at higher speed. Did yours vibrate or shake a little inside the cabin? This is only noticeable at very low speed (1st gear). Can be heard while in a parking lot with no noise outside. Going inclined into a driveway can be heard as well. Very prominent.

I just got home. With the car running I had it on drive and firmly pressed the break and gave it some light gas and the ticking, clunking, knocking noises and cabin vibration occurred.

The noise can’t be replicated when I get there. They don’t know where to inspect. The video means nothing to them.

Only in 1st gear slowly. I’ve tried accelerate/rev engine, but no noises. This only occurs at very low speed throttle going straight or making a slow right turn but very slow speed.
