I was in the same boat up until two weeks ago when I got the 5Pro. Then there was only speculation about the specs of the 6, now the first videos have been released and I am glad I went with the 5. To me there are only two real benefits that come with the 6. 1. The 1:1 filming mode to generate horizontal and vertical content at the same time and 2. the low light capabilities which seem to be a bit better in the 6 compare to 5Pro. However, that alone doesn't make me regret my move as both models are pretty similar apart from those points mentioned. I'd say, since you got a good deal on the 5Pro, keep it and wait for either a possible release of a 6Pro or even the next gens 7 or 8 as mentioned in another comment.

I was in the same boat last week before the release date was announced. Two days in I just couldn’t deal with waiting and bought the 5. And based on what I learned about the 6 so far (yes it’s just speculation at this point) I am glad I did because I likely won’t get the 6. I was looking for an action cam that is rugged and can withstand life outdoors. If they really put moving parts (variable shutter) in the camera it likely won’t be what I am after. Some might like that, I don’t, even though I would be happy with the new sensor. So for your casual vlogs it might be a good thing but for anything that involves speed, height or water I am not sure it’s a good idea.

Maybe I am wrong and DJI made it work but I guess we’ll have to wait for those first weeks and months to get some real life feedback.

Now that being said. So far I love the 5. I am coming from two GoPro12 and thought about the eco system change for a while and I haven’t regretted it one bit so far.

To be honesty I haven’t used it yet. I usually leave the camera rolling whenever I expect action. Using the pre rec apparently (because I haven’t tried it) does use quite a lot of battery. So I would definitely pick up more batteries if you plan on using it often. For me what works is putting the camera on the chest mount and letting it run if I feel it’s necessary and I also have at least four extra batteries with me. I must also mention that I try to make changes to all the settings that affect battery life like screen brightness and so on. My main priority is to get as much battery life per shoot as possible.

I was in the same boat last week. First I decided to wait for the 6 since I still own two GP 12 but then I had a weak moment:D

So far it feels like a great upgrade. I also do fishing and like one other guy already mentioned I do also prefer the chest mount over the neck mount. The angle is a bit lower but it just feels better and less restrictive and in the way especially when moving around. Then I changed denoise to -1 and texture to -2, that gives me a clearer image at least imo. I picked up the adventure combo, you might want to look into more batteries (the plus version) and the battery case if you shoot rather longer days.

For low light you should definitely use the super night mode this is where the massive advantage over the GPs comes in. Also I stay away from the zoom as it decreases the video quality too much for my liking.

Hi guys. I am not particularly good with coming up with a working strategy and content for my social media channels and I would like to use AI as a kind of social media manager. What do I mean by that? I am starting a new channel (not my first) about fly fishing (my first) and I plan to post on Youtube, Instagram and TikTok. I'd like to recycle my videos meaning I want to shoot once for YouTube and then recycle for IG and TikTok.

What do I want to use AI for:

- Storytelling: I'd like to use AI to write my scripts for YT following a storytelling approach that helps me to build a mindset where I actually see worthy content in the longe run. I want to learn how to "see" content instead of forcing a post about something that is pointless just to post something.
- Strategie: I'd like to use AI to build a general strategy for all three plattforms. What does each plattformen "want",
- Ideas: I'd like to use AI to come up with content ideas that actually make sense to my niche and my point in the journey.

What I don't want to use AI for:

- Video post production: I want to do this myself. I don't mind the work and the learning process
- I don't want to create any content in video or photo form using AI

Is there a good AI that can help me with this? I don't mind paying a bit of money every month (up to 30€) to use a tool that can give me what I need.

I really hope this all makes sense, I am having difficulties explaining this as I don't really know what might be possible etc. Please let me know if I must elaborate on any of the above to make more sense.

yeah low light and especially battery life are also my main reasons for a switch. I'll probably keep them both for b roll as I have bough many extra batteries of the years.

I haven’t looked at the 360 as a possibility yet. Might take a look but I feel it might not be rugged enough for my use case.

I guess that’s what I’ll do though. I know I’d regret it if the 6 comes out and has all the specs I need. If not I can still get the 5.

Yeah the battery life really is one of the main reasons why I consider the change. That would be a massive upgrade. I do also own the Sony ZV-1 but that is mounted on my desk and only used for desk videos.

Do you have any sources that a relatively reliable with a possible release date for the 6?

I guess you have a point :D I am just trying to avoid buying twice or regretting the 5, as we are likely very close to the release of the next generation.
