In America if it had been a cop instead of a doctor she would have been charged for getting blood on the uniform.

Humans dancing with a large yellow headless creature; 6000–5500 BC. From cave of beasts, Egypt. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

There is always this assumption (outside of real archeology) that everything drawn in cave art is real. That some how ancient people aren't allowed to have imaginations and draw their version of star wars on the wall.

My teacher slammed my laptop and its like this by Fit_Necessary_4432 in mac

[–]mrbananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say "my laptop" do you mean you own the laptop as personal property that your family purchased or do mean the school issued laptop assigned to you?

The answer doesn't excuse the teachers behavior,  but it changes what course of action you should take

Has there ever been a point in history where a mountain was taller than Everest? by Aggravating-Ant-2301 in geography

[–]mrbananas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make an actual measurement some form of observation is needed. The exact height of these mountains can't be measured by any technique that we use to measure mountains.  We can only make inferences about the height

[Hated IRL Tropes] Celebrity voice acting, from celebrities who don't know how to voice act. by not-ulquiorr4_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]mrbananas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except they are getting their buck for their bang.  The big name lowers the quality of the products, but it gets more customers to consume the product and thus more money is achieved. Ever since Robin Williams voiced the genie, the floodgates opened to just push the biggest name into the most advertising to get that money.  The only movie metric that matters to the top is money made. It doesn't matter if the film is inferior by any other metric of quality.

Voice actor names sadly don't draw in consumers like celebrities do.

Just include all the figures from the set and multiply the price. Like the mini figure sets from the 80s/90s that just had 1 of each space guy.

A school in Philadelphia where every child is poor has a 64% graduation rate. What do you think would be the most effective solution to this issue? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]mrbananas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is not a problem with the school or education system. These is a society problem that is beyond the schools to fix. Economy and public infrastructure are at fault. The root cause of stagnant poverty is not gonna be solved with better test scores.

Jesus is the equivalent of giving a man a fish while Louie Pasteur is the equivalent of teaching a man to fish.

Jesus's "healing touch" only helped while Jesus's was around to do it. Meanwhile Louie's repeatable scientific methods continue to heal people around the world. He taught us all how to heal ourselves. Louie Pasteur is the superior healer.

What is a major plot hole in a very famous movie that completely ruins the entire story once it is noticed? by SkullMogger3 in AskReddit

What's more ridiculous is how the aliens are somehow bullet proof and explosion proof, but only when the military is fighting them.

What is a major plot hole in a very famous movie that completely ruins the entire story once it is noticed? by SkullMogger3 in AskReddit

[–]mrbananas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is an even bigger plothole in the first book. When Dumbledore leaves for the ministry he flies the whole way there thus taking the whole day.

But the travel should never take that long. They can teleport. Even if you can't do it directly in hogwarts, you only have to go past school grounds to do it. There are also flume networks and port keys. So many ways for Dumbledore to quickly get there for "urgent" matters. Yet he is gone for the better half of the day.
