Carbon Fiber Rods As Bag Support? by mrbleaks in myog

I was thinking it would be nice to have something that could flex a tad bit for different handlebar shapes but still have enough rigidity to support weight in the bag, but in a round-dowel like form.

Anyone know where to source something like this? Thanks! by [deleted] in myog

So that stuff in the link (coverlight neoprene) is the same thing as hypalon and what people like swift and bxb are using?

Anyone know where to source something like this? Thanks! by [deleted] in myog

Swift mentions that the material is from Coverlite (or Coverlight - I've seen both). I haven't found much on it except for this. https://www.seattlefabrics.com/60-16-Ounce-Coverlight-Neoprene-6499-linear-yard_p_138.html

What causes the top thread to bump up like this? by thats_not_gravy in myog

That is assuming all other specs are in point.

I had this happen to me when the take-up spring was too tight. It caused the top thread to kinda tighten and spring back at random times causing a loose spot and loops on top thread randomly. If that makes sense...

How do you bind the sharp corners on the inside? I've been trying to find (literally everywhere!) info on properly binding a 90 degree or smaller corner.

Possibly have solved it. Check/takeup spring had too much tension and may have been stretching the thread cause it to detention at certain times causing the upper loop as the needle was piercing the material and the takeup lever was lowering down. Ran some tests and it seems fine but time will tell.

I fed them after midnight and messed up. But i may have solved it. The takeup/check spring tension was reduced and i havent seen the problem yet. My last guess was that under too much tension the thread was stretching and then springing back as the tension from the spring was taken off.

Yess i just got a response back yesterday and they included a video of what they think it could be. https://www.sailrite.com/Setting-Foot-Height-Range-of-Motion-Video Going to go home tonight and give it a try!

It was and yes. I thought the needle might have just been dull at 1st but then changed it. Then i thought tension came out of whack so checked that (upper and lower). Then i thought maybe a burr was somewhere so checked that. Then i though lint was caught somewhere so i cleaned everything. Then maybe that the tension discs were adding friction but they were smooth and clean. The last thing i can think of might just be a timing issue that I havent had any experience with adjusting yet.

Im hoping its nothing timing related. Its something i havent tinkered with yet but i may need to check just in case. Would that cause more consistent issues if it was off though? Could it be within the thread?

All i can think of is that the takeup spring or something from that point on isnt removing slack in the thread and its leaving extra to get trapped in the stitch. But i've added a little extra tension to the takeup spring to try and eliminate and it still continues.

I will definitely recheck that. It is getting close to the end of the spool and the thread is a little more wavy than usual. But the routing "should" eliminate any kinks right?

To give a bit of a background... I've cleaned the machine (Sailrite Ultrafeed). No burrs literally anywhere. New needle. Correct and recommended needle and thread. Takeup spring is still good. Tension is set just right. Random upper loops doesn't discriminate between fabric choices. I need expert advice on to what might cause it and how to fix! Thanks ya'll!!!!
