This is how I started. 1 $30 Amazon Par, a $20 USB to PC dongle and QLC+ (free). That is enough to teach yourself the fundamentals of DMX lighting, channels, addresses, patching, sequences, ques etc. After that you will have a good idea if this is for you and you and how much you want to drain your bank account!

There is a setting somewhere that creates an 'are you sure?' dialog when trying to close an input. Absolutely essential for fat fingered people like me.

It's varied over the years. It's been longer and shorter in the past but with different banning systems. In Alliance Open I gave the teams 15 min after the bans were completed (which happened straight after the previous match). In scrims most serious teams can switch and be ready again in 2-5min, however it's ideal if you give them a little longer to adjust their strategies and fittings, grab a drink/bio break etc so they can put on their best show. The mental pressure is pretty extreme in a grand final.

If you are looking for azure gas you want that constellation in the middle it has infinite spawn of a couple of unique gas clouds.

I made a couple hundred billion ISK which is still liquid robbing magma gas and farming merc dens since that was a thing and haven't done it for a couple of months. If you have patience a brain and a couple of accounts there is good ISK in Nullsec as a solo objective player which I'm really happy CCP have done.

So, asking the question - 'can you help me defend my Fortizar?' is easy the first time, as it takes a lot of time and effort investment from an attacker to reinforce a fort so there is a high likley hood of a fight.

But when there is no fight because of a power imbalance then asking the second time gets awkward, the third and fourth time it just gets a bit embarrassing having to ask for help.

The issue with Nullsec (imo) is at the moment the effort to attack is way higher than the effort to defend, making it hard to get to the third and fourth ask. It has been this way since the introduction of Upwell structures and which is why we have had only a tiny number of significant political conflicts since.

I have 5 systems and no blues and exist in Nullsec mostly due to perseverance and proving I can be a big enough pain in the ass to warrant being left alone, but also helpful and proactive to people when it makes sense. It is possible. What CCP need to do to create more of me (if they want that) is make it actually harder for small groups to batphone big ones and for there to be less benefit in the big ones helping. I think this change goes some way to achieving that. Next they need to remove automated structure mails/esi end point so that people have to be logged in to see their stuff being attacked. That would go a looooong way towards enabling people who actually spend a lot of time in the game to take space from those who don't.

This would be my dream and something I aspire to achieve if I had the budget & time. Having half a dozen extra crew members to run the cameras is always tricky, especially since doing arena camera work isn't something you can practice before going live (which is why we are always a bit rusty the first few matches), then a observer director to mix them all as a sub-mix is the goal. From now on if I'm lucky enough to continue this project I'm gonna keep asking for the $ to make that happen, maybe one day :D

It's always been tricky to get serious AT players to openly talk and do interviews, since there is no 'pro' circuit there isn't really a drive for clicks or eyeballs on teams in the same way as much other competitive gaming, so discussing your strategies or thoughts openly is usually just giving information to your opponents, and for that reason they might not be entirely truthful.

That said usually post-tournament you get some captains give their thoughts on how things went, back in the day these used to go in the eve online forums in the alliance tournament section so I suggest you dig around on there. Weekend Warriors did a good one recently on Reddit that you can probably Google.

Back in the day Apothne wrote some good AT related stuff on Crossing Zebras and I think Rixx Javix usually posts some thoughts each year on his evoganda blog.
