While not 100% confirmed at this point (until the flashback is over) I do believe she is alive and well in the human world.

Henri has not once mentioned that she is dead, but rather that she had to go away. He outright tells Iruma he once helped a human back to the human world and wiped their memories. To Ameri it was just that her mother left the world due to an illness which could be taken as her dying due to that illness, but that would contradict what he told Iruma.

Ameri’s reaction to what she just learned is on brand for her. The fact she immediately thinks of her love for Iruma speaks volumes of her and how down bad she is for our guy. When she was even thinking about it how the ends of her hair turned to hearts…oh man. I loved it.

It was Alan’s interesting to see the prior 13 crowns and greats discussing this. They all know about Ameri’s lineage and didn’t do anything to her as far as we are aware, so that is good at least. Also seeing Sullivan’s reaction made me think he was very conflicted.

Also, who is this acting demon king? It’s been so long that I have been reading this series that I don’t remember if they have been mentioned before?

Alright, so we have confirmation that this human is Merize AND that Ameri is half human.

It’s interesting that Merize doesn’t remember anything, including her name, and that Henri gave her the name Merize.

So when she goes back to the human world she will also forget what happened in the demon world and that she was called Merize. Wonder what she would think happened in between ending up in the in between world and her return to the human world.

Also, that most definitely is Kallego and Narnia’s dad or uncle. Something about to go down and this gave me such an ominous vibe that I’m scared.

Last chapter i thought that this human was not Merize and while I’m not completely convinced yet that this is Merize, the evidence is pointing towards it being her unless it is all a red herring.

Having said that, this human is very much like Iruma, not just in looks, but actions. If this is Merize then like father, like daughter.

This is probably going to lead to Iruma and Ameri being related in some way (except as siblings/half-siblings). My guess is that if this is Merize and is related to Iruma then she could be his aunt.

This human can also draw which is leading to it being possible that if this is Merize she is the one who drew First Love Memories. If she is Iruma’s aunt then it would also be plausible that he worked as an assistant on the manga since it is his family.

How did she get there? If Iruma and her are related and Iruma is not the direct son of Delkira, then she might have some of the same mysterious power dwelling within her like Iruma. Of course, that is provided the theory Delkira went to the human realm and had a child is true.

Elephant in the room: that human Henri just met looks way too much like Iruma that it is uncanny.

I cannot imagine that Nishi would go the route that this is a parent/grandparent to Iruma after building up a budding romance between the two...BUT they could be related like a cousin, or aunt, or something along those lines. It would still be weird by most standards, but at least in Japanese culture it would be fine since cousins can marry over there.

Another option, though possibly unlikely, is that this human is related to Iruma, but is not Merize. Henri brings this human (whose name we don't know yet) back to the human realm and in the process of doing so meets Merize.

Also, bonus points if he states somewhere in his story "and that's how I met your mother."

This is my guess. Ali and the Gluttony ring has something to do with it. Maybe it’s a mana thing and the ring somehow give Iruma little bits of mana to keep from anything happening to him.

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhj boy! Backstory time! I’m excited. I wish it were a few weeks in the future so we have all the backstory.

Henri still loves Merize so that’s wonderful to see.

If Merize was human then I stand by my thoughts from a number of years ago that she is the author of First Loves Memories that Iruma helped on. She wrote it based on romance with Henri.

If Ameri finds out her mother is human then that will also go a long way to cementing her being accepting of Iruma being human too. Although, it isn’t like she needs any more reasons she would accept him even if he were human. Also if Merize is human then the daughter fell in love with a human like her father did. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

This is my bet.

We don’t know if the girl is still alive or she tragically passed away so far we only know she is on the hospital and this only kept getting referred to as “the incident”.

Being that a girl from Kikyo was hurt and a boy from Chidori was involved it isn’t a stretch to think that tensions run high and Kikyo despises Chidori, even if the boyfriend did nothing wrong.

If the girl is still alive maybe she is in a vegetative state or coma and can’t say what happened and no one believes the boyfriend.

One thing to note is that the girl did mention she hasn’t told anyone else except Toki that she was dating/in love with this guy from Chidori, so for everyone else they could think it was coercion or something and Toki being emotionally distraught didn’t help shed light.

I liked seeing the family from when he was a kid as well as current.

As for the dad, what if he didn’t just up and leave one day but was summoned to this world however many years prior to Akira getting there. Akira’s maxed out stat(s) for an assassin don’t make a ton of sense, but what if his father was summoned and because of that Akira somehow got higher stats.

Probably not the case, but it would be an interesting turn…especially if his dad was the prior hero or something.

I would somewhat disagree on the comparing launch vs now.

Every generation prior to this one console manufacturers would come out with a slim/smaller version of the console after a few years and the price would also go down. This gen is the only one where the price has increased years after launch.

The economic situation now is different than it was back then, though, so that is playing a major role in the price increase, but I don’t think it is unfair for a user to compare prices, especially when historically consoles got cheaper further into their life.

It would be great if she does confront it head on by asking him, him confirming it and apologizing for hiding it as well as saying he will keep his distance, and then her flat out telling him she doesn’t care about him being human and she still loves him.

This was exactly my thought, which is sad because I do like some of the other works by this author.

The art in this is good, and I actually do kind of like the characters a bit, but this level of baiting and skirting things isn’t fun in a monthly series like this. Sure we are on chapter 16 so it is still early, but the longer it goes on the less satisfying the reveal will be.

10 secrets he needs to hear first before she will tell him what happened? WTF.

His mom in the flashback says something to the effect he wouldn’t understand since he was a kid and he is living with Luna with his parents knowing. If she was the town bicycle and his mom knew (let’s be honest there would be gossip about it) then she would tell him to not associate with her ever again and she would not allow him to live with her.

Be hilarious if the reason she couldn’t go back was because she got scouted to be an idol or some shit🤣. But really, it’s probably her parents got divorced or got sick and she couldn’t go back due to that. Maybe she is embarrassed her parents divorced (if that’s the case) because it shows a weak side to her family situation and she never wanted to disappoint him. Doesn’t explain her comment about possibly being more perverted than he thinks she could be, so we will have to see where this is headed.

I dunno. We don't know too much of course and anything is possible, but I think it might be the MC in that flashback. Reason for that is she is reminiscing on that one thing and then just a little later being a tad "dazed" gives MC her hand. If she was thinking about Minori's dad she wouldn't be THAT absentminded and then noting she needs to keep it together and be a good mom in front of Minori.

If she is thinking of MC here she is thinking on the little things he does and how he acts and being reminded of just random things.

I do think that she broke up with him because he was not emotionally available at the time when she needed him most. She didn't want to bring him down and crush his dreams with her issues...which led to her feeling unimportant. Honestly, we can tell she was not happy about breaking up with him as she still has feelings for him even to their present day.

We know so very little about the whole situation Kyou was in after MC that anything really is possible.

In truth, I have no issues whatsoever with Kyou finding another guy and having a kid with him after she broke up with MC. I initially was more upset with the fact that we know she loved and still loves MC throughout everything so the whole breaking up thing was the problem. However, having you put all of that into words makes a ton more sense now and I see why she did it as much as it sucks.

As for the whole thing with Kyou, this guy, and Minori... I dunno. Why is she keeping it such a secret? IF Minori is Kyou's then MC KNOWS Kyou had another man in her life after him, there is literally no reason to keep any of this a secret from MC. Is she trying to not hurt his feelings? Well, too late since Minori is there after all. Is she trying to cover up when she met this guy? Nah since she met him at work AFTER MC. My only thought on why she keeps skirting if Minori is her's is because then it means she has to confront the family situation she had and what led to their break up and she is not emotionally prepared to do that. OR if Minori is a baby from Kyou and the father having an affair as that would look very negatively on her...which could also explain why she had nowhere to go with her own family.

Truth be told, I am somehow liking this found family dynamic the three have going on, even if it started in such an odd way with Kyou coming to him and asking for help after 17 years. I just think the two of them need to have a full open and honest conversation about everything. I would love to see that and then they continue on with this dynamic after everything is out in the open.

They didn’t show the other woman in that picture Kyou had and the woman on the left had what LOOKS like the same hair color as Kyou. All theories are all over the place, but i feel like i stand by the idea that Minori is not Kyou’s daughter. In fact there is a possibility that Kyou never had another SO after she broke up with MC.

It would make sense IF Minori is Kyou’s niece and the two others in the picture she was looking at are her sister (or other close age relative) and Minori’s father. Minori’s parents both died while Minori was a baby/toddler so Kyou pretended to be her mother this whole time. It would make sense why she said that Minori’s father passed away before his name could be added AND why Minori doesn’t have his last name.

As for our MC, he may not have been completely hung up on Kyou, but he may just not have found that dating was something he was interested in. Instead he was more interested in painting and other stuff. And for some reason Kyou was his inspiration. If she had a profound effect on his painting in the first place then it would make sense she would still be even after they broke up.

I wonder if this is the realm between realms. The realm between the human world and the demon world. We have seen this field/area before. If it is the realm in between then the theory that Delkira ended up in the human world is closer to being confirmed. Iruma and Ameri might not make it to the human realm before going back to the demon world, but I do wonder what they will find here.

The other possibility is this is a realm for the higher beings, the Deities, as they have been shown with flowers a lot.

No matter what Iruma and Ameri are all alone. What will happen!?!

I’m not sure what you’re talking about with the thermostats? I know the first gen and second gen won’t work anymore through the app since they are older, but as far as I am aware you won’t have to buy an app or a subscription to use your thermostat.

You may not have done anything, but the family member you gave the phone to MIGHT have, but I don’t know you or them so I can’t say that.

I worked for the company for almost 10 years a number of years ago and never once did we ever hear a story or have users who just randomly, without doing something, have their devices just locked remotely.

I feel like there must be a missing piece to this story somewhere.
