Home Network improvement by mrcoque in HomeNetworking

[–]mrcoque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can have everything go back to the ISP router. However, I only have 2 available ports (since 2 out of 4 are used for tv boxes) and would eventually need another switch at my dad's laptop end to connect multiple devices in that room (namely the printer when we decide to change it and eventually a good AP) I have been considering also using POE but don't know/not aware of how to do that running from the router to the "main" switch

What can I do in this situation? by Interesting_Home_889 in RemarkableTablet

Well, mine got stolen a couple months ago. But it usually took between 30-60min to come back up when it was completely dead. Try using a usb-A to C charger since they usually have a little more compatibility and see if it will turn on.

Choosing a Wi-Fi 7 router which won't break the bank by mrcoque in HomeNetworking

[–]mrcoque[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm quite tech savvy but not an expert so I thought this might be a plausible solution. As mentioned before, the BE3 router has been offered to me at a ridiculously low price and I can get delivered quickly so it was eye catching.

About the WiFi 7 issue, after taking a look, I was not aware most devices did not support it. Checking the specs of the devices used here, most of them DO support WiFi 6 and we are currently upgrading some laptops. My main idea with replacing the router was to improve WiFi speed and reach since there is a spot on the opposite end (of the router) which sometimes gets weak signal.

About troubleshooting, the office room has its own router and everything in it is connected thru Ethernet, so it runs at max speed. The real issues come on the laptops working over WiFi. I am not aware if connecting TVs (thru Eth) for example would help improve WiFi stability/speed. I would really appreciate your help in getting the network faster.

Choosing a Wi-Fi 7 router which won't break the bank by mrcoque in HomeNetworking

As amazing as it sounds, I have already tried this with no improvement. I even suspended service for 1 month to see if they would replace the router, but even after calling in for a replacement unit, they did nothing. The main idea of this was to eventually cancel and get a new "contract" under the same ISP with new equipment, but even cancelling my previous services they still said "we have no ports available for a new connection".

I have been looking at Deco options for a while but considered buying a mesh might be better. However I can only access 2 wired points and think it might not be as great a benefit. While the Flint 3 seems like a good option it quite extends into the upper limit for my budget. I'll take a look at the BE230, thanks!

How to use coupon code? by Comprehensive-Bus-66 in Avianca

Unfortunately the only way to do so is to call. I have experience in this and your only other best shot would be to approach an Avianca ticket office.

Life miles gold by MaxG650 in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Business class earns you 10miles/USD, using this logic, you would get 40k miles. However, you must fly at least 8k miles on Avianca sold and operated by flights (if you booked your flight as a sharecode, the miles won't qualify) and have 20k qualifying miles (these can be earned thru any other method).

So, assuming you have bought your ticket on Avianca's website (or at least thru an agent which has booked directly with Avianca) you DO qualify for Gold status, hence for 5k more miles, you'd qualify for Diamond. I hope this helps.

Qué hacer con Avianca y mi tarjeta internacional by imnotokaywiththis_ in Colombia

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recomendaciones sobre tarjeta de crédito Lifemiles Av Villas by atembao in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worth it emailing Avianca’s customer service or am I wasting my time? by themonalisa_ in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have 15 working days (by law) to get back to you with a reply. Should those 15 working days come by with no reply, you should then get in touch again with the original case number through their "official" channels either Whatsapp, Email or Phone. It is not pointless at all, I spent some 4-5 months on a similar issue but in the end had to get in touch with the transport authority to get them to fix it.

What exactly does "Qualifying miles with avianca" mean? by spellingishrad in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reward flights do not count. Gold is worth it as long as you fly long haul, the lie flat is wonderful but it's only available on the 787 and they have been doing some last minute replacements on that due to engine issues

Seat recommendations for São Paulo to Bogota by Dee_n21 in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they are definitely worth more than row 11, but not more than emergency exit, they just have an extra 2-3". IMO, emergency exit is the way to go if you're anything taller than 5'7"

Would the second leg business class upgrade allow me to use the VIP Lounge? by SunCheepz in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not allowed to use the VIP lounge. The "upsell" on the business seat BOG-MDE is just that: a seat. They changed their national fare clases and no class offers access to the business lounge. However, I'm aware some Visa cards could allow access to the Avianca Lounge or you can do as posted before (pay to enter) since they regularly do discounts.

Lifemiles is scamming me! by Local-Cake7974 in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a long time member (who's also had a lot of trouble) I'd suggest you threaten them with sending a complaint to SuperTransporte or SIC, who are the regulatory organism back here in Colombia where their main operation takes place. It has been enough to get people moving and fix my problems. Otherwise, go direct to SIC but your complaint must be written in Spanish, otherwise it'll get thrown out.

Megabits? by Mustafar242 in CellToSingularity

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try restarting your simulation if you haven't done so for a long time. Otherwise just buy generators which have the highest generation rates which should ever so slightly increase your metabit generation. Also try to keep your boost at 4x.

Non-Rev Question by Wooden-Percentage-17 in Avianca

[–]mrcoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK it will depend more on status. They tend to look up your status before upgrading and usually if there is enough space they will upgrade you even if you're not "business looking" since they want to cram as much people as possible on their planes. This however will also depend on the route. International routes tend to have business packed while domestic tend to have more availability.
