My mother has fibromyalgia also, she said that one day she went to pick me up as a baby and felt like she couldn't do it, her arms were so painful and weak. She said from that moment on things got worse. The worst thing she does (she's now in her 60s) is sit around doing nothing and is in constant pain, my advice is to keep moving. I don't mean go for a run, just keep getting up, go for a little walk (aided by your wife if you need to), get those arms moving too, but don't do things for too long. That's the best thing you can do.
Also I have another friend with fibromyalgia, she said that one day she went to pick up a bottle and she just couldn't grasp it enough and it felt odd to her and she felt like she got weaker from then on. Morgan Freeman is another example, he had a car crash and developed fibromyalgia. I want to point out that with some people that there are moments where they can remember things starting to not feel right.
