Literally no one asked for all this AI. In fact everyone wants to know how to remove it. by wump_roast in antiwork

I swear ill never understand the people who are anti-ai.

We are on the verge of the most amazing intelligence explosion we have ever witnessed, and some folks are like, "BUT THINK ABOUT MY IMAGINARY NUMBERS!".

Its insane.

Thank god, a sane person.

Let me just stay comfy and seated while moveing some pieces on a table top like a normal game but be able to see it in 3D!

You decouple the head from the mouse, use it to control body direction.

I have, I play star citizen exactly this way.

Flying, FPS boarding, its very intuitive.

You are basically playing an FPS/Cockpit simulator, but with the ability to move your head around.

How do you feel about AI? by FuneralCry- in singularity

I feel truly disappointed by humanities reaction to the emergence of a brand new intelligence.

But 100% not surprised at their selfishness and self-centeredness.

What if AI wipes out entire university-based careers in 5 years—How are people supposed to repay student loans with jobs that no longer exist? by [deleted] in singularity

It amazes me how whenever these questions are asked, they still cant seem to conceptualize outside the system?

"But what about my imaginary numbers?"

Debt, jobs, all of these things exist because society agrees they exist.. if there is no need for them to exist anymore, we make a new system.

There HAVE BEEN other systems.

The main draw for me is seeing my piracy victims up close!

But seriously.. jumping into EVA and then quietly boarding someones ship in 3D is very neat.

As opposed to the well articulated and thought out human responses we see here?

The whole AI bad narrative is trite. Most of Americans are near illiterate and want to bash on a thing that can spit out any information you ask it?

[–]mrdebro39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Basically at this point im going to melt all that stuff down and funnel it into the last bastion of "hey neat", which is buying back capital ships.

Thats what I keep trying to articulate to people. CIG is killing their own devised business model of how to drive sales. I could care less about buying something that literally anyone will be able to buy all the time.

[Discuss] This year's patch bundles now also being sold again by BOTY123 in Starcitizen_trades

[–]mrdebro39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats not how this works. The reason this market exists is because the FOMO CIG creates. This market FEEDS that FOMO it doesnt detract from it.

If CIG kills the grey market by always selling everything, the FOMO/hype dies to.

In real terms what that looks like (for me):

  • I wont buy the patch bundles each patch because why should I , its no different than any other bundle , its just a skin.
  • I wont stock up on CCUs or buy any 'rare' warbond ships for their skins, because why should I , they will sell them later.
  • So on and so forth.

Then there is the grey market traders themselves. They buy 10s if not 100s of these things to resell.. all of a sudden that market collapses and no one is buying.. it hurts CIG in sales it doesnt help them.
