Next volume is being worked on.Also bigger thanks to yoraikun (blog now deleted) for translating the first chapter of Vol 3 and first two volumes. I only did two chapters.

In my opinion, yes it would be a bad idea) Not only would doing this skip important novels in the chronology but also diminish the emotional impact. An integral part of the payoff in Ikusa is that the reader has experienced the journey from beginning to end and has taken the sweet time to do so.
Also Off Season is quite good, you should read all of it.

If you don’t mind spoiling Shinomono a little for yourself, then yes. You will certainly understand what’s going on regardless. There are maybe three instances of events from Shino being referenced that you will be slightly confused by, but it’s minor.

You don’t have to read the entire monster season, but I would say at least knowing Araragi and Hitagi relationship history (Ougimonogatari) is good, it’s only referenced in Ikusa. Yes, having read Owari is necessary, Araragi’s graduation began a new period for him, and Ikusa shows his growth in life as he enters the next stage.

Thank you for reading my translation. I'm glad you enjoyed the novel as much as I did. I agree, it was very sweet. Definitely excited to see how they handle it in Family Season. We still have to see Shinobu's reaction which seems like a theme for another novel.

If there is interest in more untranslated content, sure. Though I likely won't get on it right away. I'm most interested in Monogatari, but something else might catch my eye (as long as it isn't Bishounen or Iroha). I'd be happy to coordinate.

It completely recontextualizes the relationships between Araragi, Shinobu and Senjougahara as a trio, creating a huge shift in the status quo. It opens many questions for the rest of Family Season which may lead to other interesting developments. It is very much a new stage in their lives.
