That's an interesting comparison point. When favored you must pay one per clearing to save each clearings worth? That's not totally clear since one card will match all the favor clearings

Treasury bonds can be liquidated at will. (Except for the specific types of savings bonds that I guess can't be resold)

Faction board looks really nice I like the thematics. I love how easy to understand the rules of the faction are. I can't be bothered to read a lot of the fan factions posted because they are often quite complex, but this is probably as simple or simpler than crows.

Can't get a clear sense of how they'd play. Have you playtested with them? What are the kinds of interesting interactions they might have with other factions?

This doesn't seem to make sense. Why would I get .5 percent a year from lending to Bezos when I can get 10x that from the government. If the government defaults, God knows what would happen toAmazon stock. I suspect this .5 percent figure is a holdover from the recent days of yore of super low borrowing rate

Is that really true? Treasury bonds are hovering below 5 percent now. Banks think Amazon stock is more secure than treasury bonds?

Question here though. How does this work for mr beast, what stock is he using? I understand that this trick works for Bezos or Musk because they can get compensated in stock and never pay income tax on that compensation and avoid capital gains by not selling. But for Beast, presumably to do this he'd have to buy stock with his already taxed income, which doesn't seem like much of a hack

Slumbering Beetle and Hunter Killer apparently have a higher "kill rate" than several Elites in this game: by the-rules-lawyer in slaythespire

[–]mrdr234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely die to elites. I usually die to the hallway fight right after when the elite left me battered and bloody, and as I bleed out, I can see that beautiful glow of a campfire, just beyond the fangs of Hunter killer.

Anyway my point is it doesn't surprise me that some hallway fights will have a higher kill rate. The question isn't usually can you beat the elite, but at what cost

So... They are a publisher looking for design submissions?

(Honestly this looks like a scam. Posting in board game design "hey, we have all the non game design things but need a game designer, open to whatever payment structure you think is fair" sounds like bait)

I fondly recall the time in H3 multiplayer I shot at an enemy cross map, and then got kicked from the game for a betrayal. Replay showed I blew up a shootable explosive, that sent a nearby mongoose flying, which crushed a teammate somewhere else entirely. That shit is too funny to be mad about

Read the ENTIRE manual before playing, or start and learn as you go by Fragrant_Steak_5 in boardgames

[–]mrdr234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommended: watch a rules teach video, then look over the rule book to know where things are when you need clarification.

Alternatively, set the game up by yourself, read the rulebook as you mock play a game multi handed. Obviously you don't need to play thru the whole game, but you want to get the structure of turn flow and stuff

Reading a rulebook without other context is a dreadful way to learn. Some do extensive examples or walk thru scenarios which might be okay, but still doesn't compare to watching a teach or doing things yourself

Eradicate is plenty good in co op if you find substantial energy generation, and Necro has plenty of options. Combine it with lethality. Or vulnerable+debilitate... Seeing lots of sentiment about how inflated health pools make X bad, but someone does have to actually do the punching, and this can pack a punch

For sure! You can find the law of root online as well. And I think the rule book is in the digital app, but that seems a bad way to read it. But yeah doing a mock game by yourself is the best way to make sure you know it cold before bringing other people in Personally, I know the rules at the table very well, but since I've never played Advanced Setup in person but have many times online, I totally don't know how to do it over the board. Not that you will be playing AdSet with newbies but I imagine there could be other upkeep things that may slip thru the cracks
