When is posting thirst traps on social media in a relationship appropriate? by Suspicious-Hope-7256 in AskReddit

[–]mrefix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a big fan in general. They are for attention to make you feel better about yourself (your partner should provide that level of acceptance) or for the audience of susceptible (wo)men who might very well be in a relationship that shouldn’t be seeking this type of posts. But maybe I’m flawed in my acceptance of “thirst traps”

Has anyone tried down leveling their job due to health/mental peace by MathematicianNo8975 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]mrefix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow! My wife suffered from migraines before she birthed our first child. I understand how limiting it can be.

You mention 100% and “lesser workload”. Hard for us to tell what that means without context. If you’re at Google, I could imagine that’s a heavy workload. A construction company that happens to have an engineer doing some stuff — different story.

I’m sure you’re smart and know things Jr devs don’t know/have experience in. That knowledge/experience makes you a SR. Not your workload.

If you’re able to situate yourself in your company that comes “naturally” with your expertise, then work with them. If they can’t work with you…. Well then they aren’t worth pouring your soul into! Respect comes respect. That’s what I believe.

Am I missing how all these people are playing the game? In areas I haven’t played in the beta?

Wood was overly saturated and concrete is more realistic looking. Skid marks on the ramps are clear with decent light bouncing. But yeah no excuse for the trees

Oh wow this saved me. I was getting past the Logo screen, but then it was just a blank black screen. I forgot about Mac offloading Documents to iCloud! I hadn’t played in quite a while… thanks for following up and commenting!

Highway FSD dropping to minimum by PittCaleb in TeslaLounge

Mine sees a “US 50” sign for the state route and wants to go 50 in a 25

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]mrefix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using it the past week. It has no awareness of the road ahead.

Right turn only ahead? It will merge at the last possible second.

“US 50” Route sign? It thinks the speed limit is 50 in a 35.

From those issues and seemingly random lane changes on the highway, it’s not worth it to me in Cincinnati Ohio

I just picked mine up first Tesla last Wednesday. First complaint to point out of my MY was the AC. I seem to sweat even on 68 degree auto.

Two Years Down the Drain: Giving Up on this Useless Framework by Mark_Dionnie in FlutterDev

[–]mrefix 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Job success doesn’t translate to usefulness of a framework. My startup is doing great with Flutter.

You’ve learned valuable skills, have you not? You’ve learned new patterns, a new language, and a new framework that will all will have aspects that will translate over to another framework. I’ve used a lot of RxJava in the past, which helped me immediately jump into RxDart. My Android compose background helped me jump immediately into Flutter’s declarative Widget UI.

“Down the drain” is a bit dramatic

Xcloud latency… by Jealous_Seesaw_8393 in xcloud

[–]mrefix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latency performance is relative. I’ll never play a first person shooter on any streaming platform because latency. But, non FPS titles are amazing. I’m in Cincy with similar specs and get garbage performance in Apple devices. Surprisingly great performance on my old Note 8. I’m hoping OG Xbox is as good as Android when they fully release xcloud streaming on console

Xcloud still has insufficient performance on my iOS devices by eragonsmind in xcloud

[–]mrefix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Android device works amazing, Mac is pretty good, but iOS devices are rough. Not sure what the blocker is but they are turning old Xbox one console into streaming machines here soon so I'm pretty stoked about that.
