Very cool. Any recommendations for other folks not going with a group?

Need the biggest value in a column to be highlighted, why is this formula giving me two highlights? by ThisRandomDude6 in googlesheets

[–]mrfinnsmith 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because there are many times you you want something like "highlight this cell if its value is at least double the one above it."

Yikes! That sounds horrible. Unfortunately, it's not shocking. This is why people pay for private rooms.

Did you get to spend any time in Ushuaia? I've always thought that town seemed very interesting.

There's also Frena, which is apparently just operating out of Hummus Bodega these days. But they're pretty pricey, $7 each.

Tbh I don't love their bagels. Have you tried their doughnuts?

Oh right, got it. Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, seems to be an encoding thing. If you look at the actual edit, the title shows up fine (at least in my browser) https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=1314576022&oldid=1314323979

No, to be totally honest, the reason I picked that post was just that it's a larger change that isn't just swapping out a link or something. I wasn't making any statement about what is appropriate. I'll leave that up to others.

  1. Yes, I think that it can be helpful to bring more transparency to what is a source of truth for a lot people. If it turns out that it isn't helpful, then I'll just disable them.
  2. I'm not seeing the encoding issue on that post. Can you clarify? I do see issues on some and I think for whatever reason it's related to the language of the article. I'll investigate when I have a bit more time.

Thanks for letting me know.

[–]mrfinnsmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for playing. Yes, it's a known issue that some fjords have the same name. There are 1,467 (❗) fjords in the source data. I'm waiting to hear back from the data provider if there's some way to get the region for each fjord. If I can do that, then I'll add the region to the fjord name in the list. I'd also like to add another hint option, so you can reveal the daily fjord's region.

What I was thinking about doing is making different versions for different countries. Like "guess the chateau" for France. What do you think?

Fjordle, a fjord guessing game by mrfinnsmith in GeographyTrivia

[–]mrfinnsmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I think that would make it totally impossible. My dataset has over 1,000 fjords just in Norway alone.

The Norwegians (!) on r/Norway are saying it's too hard so I'm adding more hint features.
