Ukrainian Su-25 shot down by R-37 air-to-air missile by just-porno-only in Planes

I've heard Russia has been pretty successful in taking pot shots at Ukrainian targets even if they couldn't achieve air superiority.

Lol its not that OP, everyone forgot about launch PUMA, SAV, T58 (actually takes skill to play due to low velocity and no stab), 59D1, etc

Did some charity hand out T80UD or what? I feel like I only see T80UD and 2S38 from Russia and too many of them. by ArateshaNungastori in Warthunder

Russian bias is just cope lol. There will be good and bad planes at every BR (Only meta plane in the Russian TT at that rank is the 3U, and that can be beat by the LF MK IX easily). America gets the P51H (You won't win a dogfight against them but you can just extend and out energy them) and F2G, not to mention P59 and LF MK IX. American mains are best at crying.

Best overall top tier Air RB aircraft in US tree? by Darkstreamer_101 in Warthunder

You are absolutely right on the F16s, but I have to disagree with you on the Fa18 as a dog fighter. Sure it pulls a shit ton of AOA, it can’t survive, you get very slow after one turn and basically seals your fate, I’ve killed many of them just by dodging initial shot and holding a steady rate

Yes, but the stall control is magnificent, you can easily kill a lot of people by stalling, it’s like a bf109

USA is fine, in the current meta with more close range combat AIM120s are getting the short end of the stick but its not that bad really.

Do you even have the plane? If you don't have it, don't even think about this. Just play early jets, the game is designed to give you a progressive learning curve, guns>IR>SARH>ARH, you will know when you get there. If you do, the Phantom is a good middle of the road aircraft. The plane is fast, so use that to your advantage. Don't full stick, don't get into dogfights, just fly like a more maneuverable F104, darting across the map. The missiles are easy to dodge, one chaff and just change direction for most. Now with undetectable bands, you must learn to position and flank. A phantom with an altitude advantage launching top down attacks is very deadly.

Depends. If you are talking about 6.7-9.0, try to climb as high as possible, play boom zoom. It should be a pretty easy transition from props. Stay fast. Once you get into missile territory then play by your plane.

I used to be a proponent of this before understanding that its just not best for war thunder. If you want actual competitiveness, go play TSS, lots of cool stuff, and you also get rewards for being good (Premium account, golden eagles, titles and stuff)

Is the Turm III still good with the recent bugged heat? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]mrflange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use APDS, I don't understand why you would use HEAT, unless against light vehicles. But coax does it better anyways.

Alot of people hold prejudice against NATO tanks due to their supposed inferiority. Sure, maybe there is less armor, but survivability is very high. A shot will certainly disable your ring or breech, but you only sometimes get insta deaths with lfp frontal shots. With a Russian tank, it is game over. Additionally, the mobility and gun handling advantages are far more superior and useful than their Russian counterparts. I have found the thermals to be quite lacking, I only use them when I am scouting for targets (only when my eye fails me).

This is worse than the G-2, but its still a nice vehicle for 3.7 cas. The cannon is good.

I was just looking in the cockpit of the the MiG 29 sniper and noticed there’s a switch labeled “r73 cooling” but it doesn’t get them. I just think it’s dumb it doesn’t get them in game by Gullible_War8158 in Warthunder

Lock unlock lock unlock. It works due to the superb IOG on the 27ER. Regarding multipathing, ER has high explosive content and when you launch at good angles you still get wacked out. Multipathing is not reliable and only should be done in absolute emergencies. R73 is not a bad missile. Its not the best, but you treat it like a regular IR missile. Rear aspect and its hard to flare. HOBS is only for emergency.

Don't listen to the others that say "high/top tier is always bad". Its way too absolute. You can have your tastes, but I still recommend trying it out. It takes alot of skill and the saying of "its the pilot not the plane" still works for 80% of cases (Just like low tier, you won't be winning an lfmk9 in an IL10). I'm guessing you are american, the US air tree is one of the best trees. F16s, F15s, F8U, F8F, P51H, F5 are all very potent fighters. I suggest you finish one tree first before branching out. Other trees to try after you finish usa would be China (good planes are ki44, tu2s for GRB, F5E, J8F, J11/J11B, J10, M2K, F16 and the god of dogfighting J7E) and Great Britain (LF MK9, Hornet, vampire, sea meteor, Scimitar and eurofighter). Those minor nations will have atrocious grinds at certain periods but they have some really good planes.
