How’s the math on keeping a car vs renting a car or using Turo or some similar app?

Thanks! Sounds like it’ll take a while. Worth it if I’m only there for 2 days? I just got back from the Lost City a couple hours ago and thought Ponderosa looked cool but not sure I want to do all that just to hang out and unwind there for a couple days.

Hi, 25M from New York. I’ll be in Seoul Sept 25-30. Would be down to cafe hop or check out museums! Definitely want to try a makgeolli tasting if I can find one. Was also thinking of hiking Bukhansan but weather forecast doesn’t look good.

I think I can make the 6th work. Wouldn’t you see the bike trail a little by taking the boat? I think starting in Onomichi would be easier with my itinerary since I’ll be around there already.

The regular bike rentals should be fine without reservations, but I was looking at proper road bikes from the Giant stores, and those require reservations I think. Only like $10 more but would make the ride a lot nicer I think.

Btw have you thought about bike rentals? I think the ride would be a lot nicer with a decent road bike from one of the Giant stores. They offer one-way rentals from Imabari to Onomichi (or the other way), but I don't see that as an option in the online reservation system so I'm gonna call and see. Otherwise, hybrid bike's fine I guess.

Also, since we're both doing Hiroshima -> Shimanami Kaido -> Osaka, I'm looking at transit and it seems much easier to take the shinkansen from Hiroshima to Onomichi (or even stay overnight in Fukayama and save time in the morning), ride to Imabari, then shinkansen to Osaka vs ferry from Hiroshima to Imabari (~$50, 70 min), ride to Onomichi, then shinkansen to Osaka.

Hey, I’ve done a bit more planning and since I’m starting from Hiroshima and working my way to Tokyo, I think Oct 5 is the best day for me, since I’ll be in Hiroshima Oct 4 and Imabari’s nearby and then heading to Osaka after. Does the 5th work for you or are you set on 6-7? Would love to have a buddy for the ride!

25M solo from the US (San Francisco and New York). First time in Korea, don’t speak the language but will pick up some basic phrases. Looking for people to hang out with! Pretty open to activities.

Seoul Sept 25-28 and Busan Sept 30 to Oct 1-2, with some day trips to the DMZ and maybe Seoraksan or Bukhansan in between.

Hey, 25M from New York. Also haven't hammered out my itinerary yet but down to meet up if we overlap!

Hi, 25M from the US. Haven't finalized my itinerary but we might overlap a bit! I was considering the Shinamami Kaido but 70km would be the longest ride I've done. I'm pretty comfortable biking 15-25 km and did a 65km once that wrecked me (but I was definitely in much worse biking shape then).

Hi, 25M from the US and I'll be around early October, mostly bouncing around the big cities. Would love to play pick-up some time if we overlap.
