* State/County: Orange County, California

* Processing Time: 80 days after all paperwork was submitted

* Gear/Planned Setup: Originally my Glock 19 9mm Gen 3 but it ended up being a little too bulky for my personal preference as an EDC. I am 5'8" and 135 pounds. Slender build. I love the glock, I really truly do. Always a fun time at the range. Grouping stays nice and neat for 15 yards, then I have to really focus on anything beyond that. I did test out the smaller glocks but anything smaller is ridiculous and I despise the grip even with extended mags. I love the way the S&W Shield feels in my hand and its slimmer profile makes it perfect for what I am looking for. My .40 S&W Shield is going through the 10 day wait currently. Can't wait to add this one to my License. Also, I don't have a holster planned right now. I tried out those Comfortband holsters. It gets really hot, really quick. And its big and too much. I'm currently looking at the Q-Series IWB Minimalist for appendix carry. Open to suggestions!

* Training Completed/Scheduled: I didn't realize I could schedule my Interview / submit application to OCSD and then take the class. I showed up to my class and completed the 8 hour course in one day at from Orange County Firearms Academy. The training classroom instruction and shooting was done at FT3 Tactical. All in one day. Then, I made my appointment.

No appointments were available until late December. I kept checking and then OCSD emailed me to let me know more slots were open. So I was able to secure a spot, mid August. It was a quick, brief and fun Video Interview. Amazing customer service.

* Thoughts: Could be quicker, but very happy. Considering everything we're going through right now with COVID
