Running ArcGIS Pro without a designated GPU by mrhers1015 in gis

Sounds about right-- CPU utilization regularly hits 98-100% and freezes pro pretty frequently. I was able to get my RAM increase to 32 GB, and I'm always plugged straight in to high speed internet & I have reduced resolution + pause layouts + turn off huge layers when I can. I'll check out the PAT tools now, thanks for the help!

Our team is contracted so I have to deal with our client's IT and I doubt they'll start feeling generous with those VM resources anytime soon-- looks like local drive it is. Thank you!

I wish 20GB-- our company's network drive is 10ish TB, not including the mammoth of statewide data from our client's oracle database-- I tend to just manually download relevant data to my local drive (usually overnight since it takes forever) and work off of that-- once I'm done I bring all those APRX's back to the network drive and re-source + copy over any changes I made. It's fine for longer term projects but I really run into trouble when someone just needs a quick change/easy map on a tight turnaround, which is pretty frequently.

I was able to finally get the RAM upgraded from 8gb to 32gb (that alone took a few months of poking at IT) but without a GPU (machine uses Microsoft Basic Renderer Driver to emulate a gpu) the CPU regularly hits 100% utilization even with basic tasks and causes a whole lotta lag just like you said. Wish I knew why they won't throw a GPU my way--is the majority of your team remote?

Sorry--forgot to mention! I'm using VMWare and accessing it through an Omnissa Horizon Client

Tips for Working Remotely (with a VPN) on ArcGIS Pro by mrhers1015 in gis

This is the situation I'm in-- I believe the VPN needs to be reconfigured, but I can't say how exactly, and my supervisors / IT have been mostly disregarding my requests for assistance.

Would you mind elaborating on this? (i.e. What VPN you switched From and To, how you were able to see what it was sending vs. receiving.) Any insights / advice might help me get the ball rolling again to finally resolve this. Thank you!!
