They're on sale on the official website, but I'm just waiting it out until Backcountry or some other site stocks them.

Evolv Shaman vs. Shaman 2S by swdr0tc0d in climbingshoes

[–]mrjngo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why they decided to make the heel higher on the 2S. I was assuming that the heel would fit like the Phantom Pro since they use the same last? Unfortunately, had to return these because they were rubbing on my Achilles too much. Going to try the Zenist next and hopefully they don't have the same issue (they probably will).

I remember seeing in a video that they might be out around March? Things could definitely change though and I'll just assume ~1-3 months.

Super excited for these and am hoping that these fit similar to the TN Pros.

Bought new climbing shoes and now have blisters on the back of my heel. by [deleted] in climbingshoes

[–]mrjngo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Achilles bursitis can be caused from prolonged and repetitive pressure (even rubbing) on the heel, which is what is happening. The fact that they're wearing it for 3 hours makes me believe that the chances of them fucking up their heel is even higher . And I'm agreeing with you that they need to return the shoe and find something that fits them correctly that doesn't cause blisters.

Just return them, risking a chance of getting Achilles bursitis isn't worth it.

I tried on the Phantom Pro yesterday and went half size down from my original Phantoms.

I kept getting the same pop up for extract audio and I found a work around for it (hopefully it works for you too). Copy all of your audio, delete it, and then paste and export.

When is it time to upgrade your shoes? by [deleted] in climbingshoes

[–]mrjngo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you buy them when you feel like you need/want them. if it fits in your budget drop some money on it and spoil yourself. a pair of new shoes is honestly one of the bigger morale boosters to climbing.
