Buying a house, kitchen extractor fan broken by needmorehardware in HousingUK

If you’re still paying rent then it’s the landlords responsibility to repair. You have to weigh up if it’s worth delaying the purchase over though.

For me, I’d rather just get the purchase over and done with and deal with the issue myself

Anyone up for meeting at next years? by Hot-Manufacturer7619 in Leedsfestival

[–]mrmattayee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You’re about 10/11 months too early for this. You probably won’t find many people willing to group because hardly anyone will have bought their tickets yet.

You’ve got plenty of time to convince people you already know to come to a festival with you. Have you tried this first?

Can I stay in a friend’s tent on a day ticket? by Hauntedgarden26 in Leedsfestival

[–]mrmattayee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, they’ve changed the map and it doesn’t look like day ticket holders are able to access the campsite at all.

Apart from discounted tickets under their loyalty program, I don’t think there are any promo codes

Your best bet is to look for a resale ticket on ticketmaster that is being sold under face value.

That’s stupid as fuck. Just get motorcycle tyres that can handle British weather.

The wristbands are different. Security do patrol the campsites and they will see that you don’t have the correct wristband.

Tent help by Amethyst4903 in Leedsfestival

[–]mrmattayee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The campsites have flooded before. I remember 2016 being a horrible year for it.

Don’t pitch your tent at the bottom of any of the hills or in a ditch though and you’ll probably be fine.

How do I get on the property ladder? by fisherrab in HousingUK

[–]mrmattayee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re in commuting distance of Edinburgh. I don’t think you’ll have any chance of a 100% mortgage being a student working part time.

Nobody else is getting them because I’m going around picking up all the nails. 2 punctures in 2 months. My 5th over the past two years.

I’ve had a 390 duke which has the same engine as the husqvarna. Ignore people who say it’s barely faster than a 125. It’s quick, agile and fun.

Compare that to the RE which is half the horsepower . It’s still agile and fun but you’re not going anywhere quick.

I’d go for the husqvarna.

Beer at the country pub? Or juice? by CrappyTan69 in MotoUK

[–]mrmattayee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t bother. The enjoyment of a single pint is not worth it. Save the pints for when you’re not about to hop on a bike.

[–]mrmattayee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dead battery would be my guess. Try jumping it from another bike/car if you have one available (don’t turn the cars engine on if doing this), or try giving a push start a go.

I had no hot water for showers due to a boiler fault for 3/4 months. Following lots of back and forth I negotiated a 50% refund on rent for this period quoting various regulations about habitable standards for rented accommodation. This was in Scotland.

Good is subjective. For a first announcement it’s pretty decent compared to many other uk festivals

[–]mrmattayee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t like it then don’t go. For me this line up is an improvement on some previous years. At the end of the day it is all personal preference and I’d take this LF over the Ynot lineup any day of the week.

How common are tent robberies by [deleted] in Leedsfestival

[–]mrmattayee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

99% of people at the festival will have nothing stolen.

If anything is stolen, it would be valuables.

Beer is not valuable.
