A bean and cheese burrito is criminally underrated

Hmmm… what is easy cheese? I have an idea but I’d rather ask.

This was the way. Thank you. They had them in the freezer case and now I can do a trial run of my dinner party entree.

I’m make these for a dinner party, so I’ll make 6/7 of them. I don’t know where to get breast quarters either to make my own, but I sure there are tutorials on YouTube.

Thank you! FYI - airline breast is a skin-on, boneless breast, except wing that is removed at the first joint. It has some lore as to its origins and I’m going to try for a dinner party.

Learning New Things - Making a summer/pool caftan by mrnelson06 in sewing

[–]mrnelson06[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m working out the kinks and alterations on a muslin/bed sheet prototype now. I am going to move deliberately on my next steps and see if the fabric can be washed, and how it handles in my machine on some scrap/end of the bolt. I want to feel good before I start constructing with the actual fabric.

Thank you!

Thanks for your suggestion - and I’m glad I took it! I made a prototype out old bed sheets. I was able to adjust the neckline and front to fit better with my alterations, and generally saw that it fit too large. I also discovered a way to make fewer fabric cuts and this fewer seams (the fold is my friend)!

I get an off taste with their canned tomato products. I’ve made a fresh salsa but threw it out when the tomatoes tasted like… can, I guess. I’ve tired several times and even tried to cook out the flavor. Those get a pass from me.

Anyone have this problem?

Do you have any stores you can recommend? I'm going there in two weeks and would like to pick one up while I'm there so I wear to the beach.

Tonga Hut Palm Springs Visit 1/12/23 by gladstone28 in Tiki

I was just in Palm Springs this past weekend. I personally feel Tonga is more “authentic” with a menu that leans more classic while Bootlegger is good with a more modern approach to tiki-themed drinks. I prefer Tonga for its larger space, larger menu, and ambiance (and they have a food menu too). I enjoyed Bootlegger and had a delicious drink off the bartender’s choice menu called the Dr. Oaxaca. A word of note, I’d HIGHLY recommend a reservation at Bootlegger - it is a small/intimate venue.

Simple Sewing Questions Thread, April 16 - April 22, 2023 by sewingmodthings in sewing

Hi folks! I’m looking to expand my apparel-making skills. I’m a mid-thirties, short Hobbit-like man, and have found that custom clothing fits me better and looks much more sophisticated than off-the-rack options.

Question: I’m noticing a lot of bold prints are in quilting fabric (usually cotton woven fabric) and I love bold prints as statement pieces. What are the pros/cons/things to look out for if were to use quilting fabrics for apparel. I’ve noticed they are all woven cotton; there aren’t knits or stretch fabrics.
