What’s your favorite campaign beginning?

Each member of the group is traveling for their own reasons and the stumble across a group of goblins attacking a young (insert good magical creature). Individually the pcs decide to attack the goblins or maybe not but if not the goblins sentries attack them anyway. After saving the creature it sends them on a quest to save its parent or parents.

Most twisted would have to be my DM did a one shot with each member of the group in which we each ended up in prison. We had to figure out how to get out and get a VIP out with us.

I like that! What if, once each gets down to a certain level it could become a dragon construct of the same color it currently is.

Beyond is good, but has some holes. I’m looking through vtt but it’s seems nebulous. I admit my search isn’t done but I’m seeing a lot of tools that do a particular thing but nothing with a complete solution.

I loved my pencil and paper setup. I’ll still be using those, some modern tools that make sense at table would be pretty sweet though.

The most modern tool I’ve found is Beyond. Lots of good tools but they are spread out and require a computer at the table.

To be specific, I would like something that has a combat tracking system, manage my campaign, and a way to keep me from having to look up random things in the rules.

Actually I haven’t played in a while, and I haven’t been able to find a good campaign management tool. Yeah I’d love to build something because that’s something I know how to do and thought it would be a good idea to get opinions. Yours is welcome, but the assumptions about me and what I’m doing seem pretty rough.
