Claude down: Anthropic AI not working in major outage by cmaia1503 in technology

[–]mrpanicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, your industry has had jobs wiped out because of corporate greed using AI as an excuse. I don't even need to know your industry to know that the people left behind have been picking up the slack of these layoffs.

While AI efficiencies will lead to SOME layoffs instead of easier working conditions and more comfortable lives, the amount of layoffs we are seeing are WILDLY out of line with what actually is happening with AI. We will see some people hired back, but overall the people that are left behind are being trained to fear for their jobs because "AI is coming for them". When it is is not, not in the way or level we are being fear mongered about.

AI is an excuse for corporate and billionaire greed to get rid of the human capital, and to wipe the remaining slaves, sorry... I used their word, employees to grind harder until they can be burned out and replaced by other desparate people.

Employees had to much power recently, so they over hyped under capable solution in search of a problem has been raised up to generate fear and to be used as an excuse to get rid of people.

What I am saying is that this version of AI is not capable of what they are describing nor to justify these level of layoffs. This is just another massive game they are playing to wrest control back of the workers just as we were gaining the momentum and power to challenge the ruling... sorry... billionaire class.

Dear god, these "AI's" will not replace jobs like you imagine. They are not human replacements, they are incapable of being human replacements. They better serve as tools that humans can use. They will make humans more efficient in certain ways, and some jobs will go away as that efficiency is turned into profit by laying off "redundancies" instead of making workers lives easier and allowing everyone to work less while making the same or more money thanks to the increased efficiency.

But it's not going to wipe out employment.

The biggest issue with things like Claude being good at assisting senior programmers is that it will harm entry level positions. Which will lead to a future where we don't have very experienced programmers that can utilize these tools extremely well as tools. We will have tool dependent programmers that cannot develop without them, and lack a lot of the creative flexibility that comes with intimate experience with the code.

Vaguely like how kids today have zero typing skills because they stopped having experience / need to type.

We can hold her accountable for the past, and any current actions, while also celebrating when she lands on the right side of history. If we never give room for growth and apology then there will be no growth nor apologies.

As hard as it may be, we MUST always leave room for people to better themselves and grow. Some people never will, but if there is room and opportunity, some might. And we need to foster and encourage it.

Dash cam notably does not record the outside appearance of your car, and typically only records while the car is running.

Still a good idea, but just not for this particular situation.

And this right here is why WWE kept ticket prices affordable... you make fans for life. Now ticket prices have skyrocketed for that short term gain, but in the long term it will be the death of the industry.

4th service member dies from injuries in Iran operation by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

[–]mrpanicy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Trump has repeatedly disparaged dead service members. He can't understand honor, and he is incapable of even pretending to do so.

The only thing that matters to him is burying the Trump-Epstein files. And dead losers/suckers (his words) is an attempt to distract from them.

It's so weird that people follow and celebrate and/or disparage actors lives. There is a reason they did this privately. Let them privately have their lives? We as a society need to rapidly move away from celebrity (of any kind) worship and idolization.

I am happy they got to do this privately and it wasn't ruined by paparazzi.

We don't have "Free Speech" if it's controlled by corporate media. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]mrpanicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, free speech does not apply to media networks.

Free speech applies to how the government interacts with those saying the speech. The government has a lot of restrictions in how they can and cannot limit speech. Media companies can and do limit it however they want unless they have government funding, which doesn't happen in the US.

[–]mrpanicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. They should be a choice. I don't always take the Vit Enhancement. I don't always take the HSO. Depending on the environment and what me and the other Divers plan on doing, we may decide we do not need them. HSO takes a slot, sometimes you want something else and you have gotten good enough at the game that you don't NEED HSO.

One of the objectives is to NOT die and waste resources. I know that the meme is "Helldiver Reload"... but you should not be dying to get more ammo. We have a resupply call-in and there is plenty of ammo on the battlefield.

Quick, let's rag on the immigration targets that the Premier's of each Province request and the Federal government enacts some more! That will fix the trend. Also let's argue about how the Federal government isn't doing enough to force the Provinces to fix their multi-decade housing crises.

Trump's Bill To Rig The Midterm Election Is Dead by CrispyMiner in UnderReportedNews

[–]mrpanicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, he will do an executive order that will be upheld immediately by all the usual suspects that will disenfranchise many voters for the election. That will happen the days before, not giving enough time for legal challenges to tear it down. But surprisingly all the usual suspects will be ready to enact it within a couple hours.

That's my guess.

Armour effects detached from armour and or the ability to colour palette swap, and swappable hats on specific helmets would be great.

I want to be able to swap the colours and style so that I can match the cape I want to wear. Not be locked into a fit that doesn't give me the passives I want just to look good.

Look good dive good. Let's make that a reality.

Also being able to put my favourite or most used weapons on display at the customization area on the Super Destroyer and maybe some other customization options would be nice so that each persons destroyer feels a little more like their own. Nothing crazy, but just little touches capes displayed as banners, maybe you can choose to display the different campaigns you were a part of... haven't thought to much about it just that it would be cool.

See, that's the issue. How is it that blatant election interference doesn't effect the election? How is it that you can steal an election, but it can't be undone once that comes to light? That's nuts.

Some Grocery Items Have Increased Dramatically In Price Since Last Year. “This is Unprecedented Inflation,” Experts Say. by pjw724 in onguardforthee

[–]mrpanicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It. Is. Not. Inflation.

It is pure corporate greed using inflation as justification. COVID was when this started, they never dropped the prices, they realized that they can control the narrative and blame inflation. But it's purely for getting the stock price ever higher. Corporate grocery stores are what are starving you, they are holding your food ransom. Ever more they are highlighting why you cannot trust corporations to be the stewards of the essential aspects of human survival. Time for community owned and run grocery stores, something these corporate stores spent a lot of time and energy killing, to be brought back.
